What do you think the public's reaction will be?

"I tought it twas gonna haff soma dem loop de loops. Come on Cletus, lets go ride!"
Okay, fine, maybe I'll just stay at the Breakers Express the night before and be at the entrance at 7:30 like this year and get on the first train of the new ride like this year. Man, do I love roller coasters!
The GP's reaction will be "Oh my God i'ts gonna fall over"

I know mine would be! It looks unsafe. Watch out for those strong winds there.... But that all adds to the fun. Imagine, being at the very top and then the ride begins to bend sideways. That would be nasty...

Thank you Rob. Hopefully the trend will continue even with station gates.

The falling over theory can't possibly be much worse than that of WT. Seems like all you heard in line was "Wow, look at that thing shake. That's not safe."

I'm sure there will be people who are too afraid of this ride.. but an overwhelming amount? I doubt it. Remember that Cedar Point is building this ride for a general audience. If they thought that less that 50% of the people going there would not ride it, they would simply not build it. I wound't be surprised if they had surveys asking random park goers how high it would be before they would no longer ride roller coasters.

I think the whole CP16 strategy they are taking is going to be a huge success for them!

I think '03 may be the first year that they sell Depends with the Cedar Point logo on them! They'll set up a little cart between the entrance and exit. On the entrance side will be a sign that says "You'll need these!" and on the exit side, "Told you so!" :)

Amazing what the mind comes up with when you can't sleep...

Yes that about sums it up, I wonder if there will be a roll of toilet paper in each train? I am sure that CP will need to keep a pressure washer handy along with a hundred gallons of lysol!

Erie: The only great lake you can walk from end to end and only get oil on your shoes!

Two members of the general public I talk with frequently have already made their decree based on internet photos:

"It looks like a phallic symbol. You know, I hope Power Tower doesn't get envy."

"It looks strangely phallic."

Depending on the crowd one associates with, responses from even the general public can be, umm, unexpected.

They're not the only ones who have said that.

Anyone who has watched South Park will get this one.

The perfect name for it is Red Rocket ;)

Red Rocket!!!!!!!

I hope the GP loves it and packs the line full so the wait for MF is like 10 minutes in the spring.

After a rush like that.......who needs sex???
Obviously, punkinbaby76 is missing out here.
No not me....the GP!!! Ugh.
well i am an associate with pkd i have been since 2001...and when XLC came out there reaction was either i want to ride it or not in a million years...i actually thought that all the other rides were now baby rides after that ride...but as for anything good happining i think that this ride would be good for publicity and all...and also no one would be stupid enough to ride it or will there be 6-7 hour lines just to ride the thing...and we must think this is a prototype so you know what that means more flaws just like XLC...there is no other ride in the world that goes over 318 feet and goes that fast...so do you think they have bitten more off then they could chew...PEACE
Actually, Xcelerator was the "prototype" for #16, and it had very few problems. I don't think we will have nearly as many problems as HXLC.
