What do you do to people who line jump?

I've seen people at MI Adventure who line jump, but only get sent to the back of the line. I want to know what CP does, because it does state that line jumping results in dismissal from the park...but i dont know if they enforce that.

ya those W.W.J.D. people realy start to tick me off all they do is say they are meeting someone further up but really they are just cutting in line ive seen this happen lots of times.
Line jumping is not a sporting event...was it ever?

Welcome to the Magnum XL-200, the coaster featured most on the Discovery Channel.

The thing with line jumping is that it is often difficult for us (ride ops) to watch the lines every minute of every day. The most effective way to help the crews (at least in my opinion) deal with line jumpers is to alert a ride host. If enough people tell a ride host, then we are far more likely to have them removed from the line than just one person saying it because.

Also, if everyone always complains about having to wait so long in the lines at CP, why do you let people cut in front of you. I would have no second thoughts about telling a ride hosts that 7 teenagers cut in front of me. But then again, sometimes people have legitimate reasons.

As for the "...dismissal from the park..." thing. If you look at it from a business aspect, CP would actually be losing money by kicking every single person out that line jumped. Not to say that we haven't kicked people out before, but if you just spent $42 to visit and was kicked out, you would make sure to tell all of your friends what a "horrible place CP is..." In the long run, CP is losing your business, your friends business and their reputation is hurting. So just play nice and fair!

Jeeze, "Big Jon" your a little small minded.

Most of the time when we catch the guest we just make them walk through the line. They can ride again, as long as they go through the line properly. The only time a guest will get ejected from the park is if they give the ride operator too hard of a time and security is required.

ya when i was at turnstiles i get a great view of the entire magnum que area. i can see exactly what everyone is doing and so on and so forth. earely mornings and late at nite, if ur at turnstiles, u have to watch the woods by gullivers grill for the line jumpers. and its not always the teeny boppers (we all no how i feel about dumb teeny cheerleader AIRHEDED GIRLS!) I had a dad and his two kids come in through the woods and when i told him he had to walk all the way back to enterance and start from their if he wanted to ride he called me some very choice words. as he was walking away, through the woods again, he flicked me off repeatedly. there were other times like if someone got somethin from the rip off pepsi machine that if they want to catch up to their group thats kool, just its a prob if u go to the bathroom or something out of the line.

As a guest for more than 30 years, I have seen few line jumpers at CP (just lucky I guess), but the times that I have, they generally do not get past me, especially when my 6'4" husband is in line with me. They tend not to argue with him and either just stay behind us or leave altogether.

There was one incident in the Raptor line a couple years ago (back when Raptor still had a very long wait) where a couple of teen boys tried to pass me and I refused to give way. They physically pushed me into the rails and a gentleman ahead of me grabbed them. After a brief shouting match, the teens tried to carry on, only to be met by security further up. I believe they were escorted out of the park.

I've always found that if one guest refuses to let them pass, others will follow suit.

As a ride op, when we get a report of a guest line jumping, we try to ask the guest if they did or not, or to remind them of the line-jumping policy. It's a tough situation to deal with, that's for sure, and you're almost certain to have an irate guest on your hands one way or another.

One thing that will happen is if someone is line-jumping a lot or makes a hassle of it, we'll report it to security or Park Op and they'll spread the word through the park with a description of the person (clothing, tatoos, hairstyle, some way to identify them) so we know to watch out for that person.

I have to agree with OldCPer, though, it really isn't as much of a problem as you'd think. If we actually see it happen, of course, we make the person go back through the entrance.

We put them in some stocks taken from Fort Sandusky, and then force them to listen to old Debbie Gibson records at a high speed while simutaneously dumping water from our ride on them. haha :)

First off I just wanted to say hello to everyone I worked this pass summer at Dorney Park on Steel Force. I only work a very limited number of days now. Seeing that both parks are owned by Cedar Fair and are ran very alike I feel like I sort of fit in here.

Anyways Steel Force we usually don't have any line but when we do people line jump like crazy. If the person at turnstile/height check see it we stop people from enter the station and then we go over to the guest(s) and tell them that we saw them line jumping. Most of it time they say their freind was waiting in line for them. So all I do it point the the lovely signs that define line jumping and what will happen if you line jump. We tell them they must go to the start of the line and that if they refuse i tell them that a train will not be sent out with them on it. If they refuse then we tell them this is their last chance or security will be called and at that point they will be removed from the park.

If we don't see it we tell the guest that unless a large group of people can confrem it that their is nothing we can do about it since we need to see it.

My absolute favorite thing is when waiting in line for PT, the people in the operators booth tell the ops there is a line jumper and like 4 people go to chase and the guy runs. Its great!

When someone wants to go past me and join their friends or family, I would just tell the person to have their friends come back to us. In this situation, the person is not jumping in front of me.

what I do is I usually make them go to the end of the line and if they give a hard time I kick them out of the line.

So here's my question...why is it that most of line jumpers only jump line when there really isn't a line to begin with. That's the worst time because the ride ops are so bored that they are actually paying attention to the line. Come on, people, there's no line to begin with...why jump it?

Well, what we usually do is burn them at the stake...Just kidding I usually just make them go to the end of the line.
