What do you do on a rainy day at the point?

I know they suck but on the day it rains what do you do, because I am looking at the 10 day forcast and its at 40% chance right now and I still want to have a good time

Go to Famous Daves and have a nice lunch intead of an on-the-go lunch.

Then wait in my CP rain poncho outside of TTD.

I look at it as seriously how many storm systems linger around for more than an hour or two at best.

But still that is 2 hrs out of a day at the point

Consider the fact that if it rains for 2 hours that "2 hours worth of crowds" will probably also leave the point, and especially when you start noticing Maverick and TTD trains leaving the station after they have just re-opened with a walk on line.

Most people need SOME break for lunch, weather it be Panda Express or Famous Daves (15 minutes vs 1 hour+).

Your going to just want to focus on staying dry. Many people in here will talk about going to see a show or playing some games. Being wet at the point when you didn't plan on it sucks.

Your the exact reason the park isn't as busy on "somewhat rainy days". Because your pessimistic about the situation, you figure to not be getting the most for your money.

Eat a nice lunch at TGI Fridays or Famous Daves where you have to wait for real food to be prepared. Than find a dry spot to camp out by a coaster. TTD and MF have the lockers that are covered which will provide you with minimal protection, and you'll be the first to know when the coaster re-opens.

There is plenty to do during "rain delays"... See a show, browse gift shops, go to the Town Hall Museum, sit down for a meal.... and as long as it isn't lightning, many rides will still be open.

From what I've read it sounds like the rain policy has been relaxed somewhat for this year.

Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004

Some of my best days at the point have been rainy days. Two examples; we drove in from Pittsburgh all morning to go to Starlight and it rained the entire time. It quit just as we were pulling into an empty parking lot. It was the first year for MS and we walked on. It was actually a great ride back then. The other time was about the 2nd week in May while I was in college. It was pretty cold and misting, and there was noone at all in the park, we walked on to everything.

Catch a show, ride some of the rides I dont normally ride, walk through the shops. There is still lots to do. Rarely does it rain all day. Anyway, a rainy day at Cedar Point is still better than a sunny day at work.

We could find some of the old fascination balls, take a drill to the JR counter, and just roll them down the counter in JR.

Get wet! :)
Most small rides still run, I like Scrambler in the
rain... And the Arcade, one of the best days I had
at Cedar Point in the rain, I played Air Hockey
for quite a while.
Does Thunder Canyon run in the rain? Go get wet on that
ride, your wet anyways.

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

Merry-Go-Round in Sandusky is a good place to go if it rains. They have lots of Cedar Point items on display.

Just so long as we don't have to simultaneously dance to "Love Shack"...

This is a no brainer. I go to TGIF or Famous Daves and park myself at the bar until it stops raining. (not recommended for guests under 21).

^^ - nope, and you can throw the balls at anyone who does.

I know last year Monster, Witches Wheel, Power Tower, Matterhorn, and Scrambler were open when it rains, but if it starts to storm forget it, your best bet is go eat or go to the arcade.

3 things you can't talk about with people you don't know is religion, politics, and roller coasters!

Well, on a rainy day at CP, I do several cool things:

- stare at my favorite rides at they sit miserably in the wet

- hang out in hotel breaker's lobby and sit while snoopy marches in to dance with families in the lobby

- go into the main arcade and get trampled by wild game fanatics running around

- walk the frontier trail and slip on the wet midways

- ride a small flat ride and get stuck on it to find out it will just break anyways

That's about it as for what I do inthe rain....

Get out the pails and go play in the sand at the beach.
