What Colors? What Name?

I'd like to see a Purple and Green color scheme...

as for the name..I'm still partial to Spartans Chariot..:)

Seriously though..I like Mayhem or perhaps Sudden Velocity.

Hows about Metallic Streak? The new line-up of steel coasters with "streak" in their name. I could bring back the goodness in the word used in a coaster name. OF course the track would be metallic or something. THat would be kewl.

Even though the idea of patriotic theme sounds good, in another 5-7 years we'll return to the cycle of "Patriotism is so not cool." Think about it, how did you feel about things that we're very patriotic pre 9-11?

Yeah...but, everything is different now. And patriotism will probably be very well accepted for a very long time from now BECAUSE of 9-11!!!

player the patriotic tophat sounds cool. Would look like one of those popsicles, cant think of the name.

Isn't that called a Bomb Pop?

cyberdman pointed that out :)

I stand by my awsome color selections :)

If you people are correct about the patriotic name and color scheme perhaps this is directly related to the delay in announcement? Maybe they're waiting until after the 11th to announce just so that the swell of patriotism is fresh in everyone's minds.
Plus you could work the angle of "you remember the 11th? Well show the terrorists that we're not scared, come vacation at CP to ride this" or "here's to show the them how bad they hurt our economy, we're building this massive ride". Maybe far-fetched ideas, but could be a way to explain the delay in announcement and would make CP out to be real "good guys" in the whole scheme of things.

I don't know... I would definitely call those farfetched.

I still highly doubt the patriotic coaster theme here. I just don't like the whole "lets build a giant red white and blue coaster" idea. It just seems like they would just build a Xcelerator knock off with pretty much the same "car theme".

Sudden Velocity-I love it!

Maybe I'am in the minority on this one. But I always like the simple names for coasters. The Cyclone, The Raven, The Beast, etc.

How about simply calling it The Rocket?

To bad they already have two "Streaks" in the park. I think if the rumored speeds are right simply calling it The Streak would be appropriate. Everyone would look like a streak at that speed.

As far as colors. I always thought black supports with yellow track was a striking contrast and looks cool on a coaster. (Although I dont like the Hawkeyes! LOL )

I'am just happy they are building another coaster and that I'am close enough to CP to visit several times each year.

Can't argue with CPTwister on that one. Those colors would look sweet on a coaster. I, for one, would very much like to see a little bit more black and gold coloration here in northern Ohio. But I might stop short of making any "Steel" references in the name.

But by now, I've alreay seen the crimson, white, and yellow, etc. track and support pieces. Maybe Black and Gold can come to CP in a future manifestation...

If you think they won't go patriotic, just look at Corkscrew. It opened in the nation's bicentennial year (1976) and its colored the way it is because they wanted it to be patriotic.
