What am I going to need??

In 22 days I am no longer a guest at CP-I will be an employee. Got hired on back in April-supposed to be ride op on SRF-am working to get transfered to MF or Raptor. (Any of you who know me personally understand that!)
Here is my ??s:
1- Besides the obvious hygiene items (soap, shampoo that kind of stuff) do I need to bring pillow, sheets, blankets, towels?
2- Is there any part of our uniforms that I will be expected to pay for? EX: the extra jacket,
or the waterproof stuff? (Being a guest for the last 2 Halloweekends-rain is definitely in the forecast)
3- Is there someplace in the dorms to get ice?
4- How resonable (and edible) is the food in the employee cafeteria?
5- Does CP have you work during the hours b4 the park opens? (I am supposed to be processed on the 8th-park isnt even open that day)
6- Am I allowed to stay "over" on the Sunday nights I am working and leave for home on those Monday mornings?
7- How much $$ would you suggest I bring?
8- Do they pick which dorm you live in?
9- I have heard tons of parties--is this true?
:-)

I realize this is just a job to some but I am so completely excited about working up there-I adore CP and working there is like a dream come true.
See you all soon (22 days!)
Thanks for the insight!

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
Definately you will need to bring sheets, towels, pillows, and all the other necessary toiletries. A small fan wouldn't hurt, either. I'd bring a blanket too - the best thing would be a sleeping bag, because unzipped, they're the perfect size, warm, and easier to clean.

Uniforms provided are only the basics, the ride op outfits and so forth. You have to buy the rainsuit (about $20), and the "blues" jogging suit outfit - it is really warm, so I would REALLY recommend it, but it costs about $60. If you ever work there again, though, you can use it again! I still have mine! You don't have to clean your uniforms, you'll just exchange them at Wardrobe.

No ice in the dorms, you're on your own there.

The cafeteria is great -- cheap as dirt, and the food is really good. Breakfast is the best meal, and there are always sandwiches and fries and so forth (chicken sandwich, burgers, etc.) no matter what the meals are. Seriously, you can get a great meal for $5.

They just want you to process in so that you're ready to work the next morning - you have to do your training videos and checklists, and get uniforms, and all that. If you work that day it would be cleaning up in the park and stuff.

During the regular season you pick if you live in the dorms or the apartments or whereever if there is space available, but this late I'm not sure because they close some of the dorms. You just check in wherever there is room, they don't "assign" you anywhere.

I'd suggest $50-$75 to start, but if you go to the partys (ie, drinks), you'll probably want more. Your choice!

I can't answer any of the rest, because I haven't worked there this late in the season. But I do know you'll have a good time! Enjoy!
