What about the Baby?

Kay gang,, here is my latest concern. We are planning to get back to the Point for Halloweekends and I am wondering about my two year old son. He had a marvelous time when we went a few weeks back but I am wondering if there will be much for him to do. I don't suppose any kiddie rides are operational? What do you all think? Are Halloweekends as family oriented or is more of an older/teen crowd? Any input is appreciated!

It's family oriented to a point. I have five kids all 10 and under and they loved it. The kiddy rides are running and they have a ton of stuff for the kids to do. They had mask making, a hay maze, a magic show, and big monsters that were all friendly. Now with that said, there were some areas my kids thought were intense. Frontier trail is a spooky at night. This year they promise to make it scarier. I'm planning on checking the area out before I take them back. Everything up front is just about 100% low impact. My kids have already asked me when it starts.......

I tell you, I've never been up for Halloweekends. I've always said I was going to go, but school had started, and I was too busy partying there to go up. Now that I'm out, I'll have to head up this year!

Just a reminder that some areas, the entire Magnum-Gemini Midway including Camp Snoopy and most of Frontier Town, are completly closed on Fridays of Halloweekends. So I would recommend a Saturday or Sunday so that you can enjoy the entire experience.

kruggie, you sound like a very good parent, who wants to make her kid's HW experience a good one. Be aware that there are many things that we may find OK as adults, but may be too intense for the kiddies. For example, our four kids picked up on the scary music, the fog (tons of fog machines), and the skeletons and tombstones/graveyard scenes. Maybe our kids are too sensitive, but the walk-around monsters (costumed employees) were too much for them, too. Some of these outrageous outfits are about 8 feet tall - I can't imagine what that must look like to a little kid.
Yes, it can be fun for the kiddies, but especially when the sun goes down, it can EASILY get too scary for them

Having too much fun with the regular season to be thinking about HalloWeekends this early.

I have always believed there is nothing wrong with a little fear! I have always enjoyed a good scare and have instilled this into my older two boys. My husband however is the big chicken! My eldest two are ten and eight the baby is two. We make it a habbit to visit the local Haunted Houses each season. Yes they do get the crap scared out of them but after all said and done they laugh about it later. It is the two year old that concerns me most. I tend to wonder if he understands that kind of fear yet. Perhaps when the time draws near I will dig out a scary costume or two and see how he handles that.
