What a way to end the season

Wow, closing day was a very good day for me. My friend and I arrived at the park in time for the Joe Cool Club ERT. We took three laps on MF, which could have been many more if they had more than just the blue trian open. Once other things opened up, we went about our day as usual, and got many multiple rides due to the very short lines.

We took a break for a hearty lunch at Midway Market, then went right back to riding as much as we could fit in. We both had freeway Dragster passes, so we used those in the middle of the afternoon and rode front seat.

Toward the evening is when things really got fun. We hit a MF front seat ride to say goodbye for the season, followed by a front seat ride on Gemini to do the same. At this time, it was about 20 minutes before closing, so we hit the Dragster line. We waited for the front seat, knowing that we wouldn't make it, but figuring we could at least get the last train of the season if we didn't get front seat. So of course, the op tells us that the people in front of us will be getting the last train and we need to move elswhere. We sat near the back and had a great ride.

At this time, it was somewhere around 8:45. They were loading what would be the last two public trains of the season, so my friend and I decided to watch the last two go. We were standing near the employee door that goes down to the midway from the platform. Well, we watched as each train only had enough people to get half full. Some CP cops who were on the platform were allowed to board to help fill the train, but that still wasn't enough. So the ride op turned to the midway and yelled "anyone want to ride right now?" My friend and I bolted up the employee stairs and were directed into the third row of the second to last train of the year, and again we had another amazing ride. What made it so great was that our season was over. We had taken our last ride, and then we stumble upon some tremendous fate that lands us one final "bonus" ride. It may not be much to read about, but as far as we were concerned, our bonus ride was 10x better than the rollback we recived a few weeks ago.

Thanks so much to the Dragster crew, they have been tremendous all year. They've had to put up with an unbelievable amount of crap because of the lack of reliability that came with TTD, but they still did their jobs phenomonally.

I was there yesterday too. Extremely light crowds, MF's queue got up to about 20 mins at the max (but was usually much shorter) I was able to get 14 rides on it - which put me at 93 for the season :)

I was able to get a ride in the third seat on the last MF train of the season (there may have been some other gttp-ers on there too, but I don't really know anybody from here. I was wearing a grey/white coat). We were a few people short of filling the train ahead of us, so there were about 8 or 9 of us who stayed back for the last ride. After a couple of ride ops jumped on, we were off. It was a great way to end the season for me, but it's going to be a long winter.

Rollercoast03,

I was on the last Millennium Force train as well. I was wearing the black Millennium Force jacket and that is the way I have ended the season each year since MF opened in 2000. There is no better way!

I saw you guys dart up the steps and board the train. I was standing on the platform by the exit ramp hoping for the same. Well, after being turned down twice, the employee finally agreed and I got to board. So not only did I get the last guest ride of the year on Magnum, but also the last guest ride of the year on Dragster!!! I followed that up with a trip to Chet & Matt's and then a trip to Louie's. What a great way to end the best season ever!!

I was on that last train... couple rows in front of Tony!

edit: Anyone ever figure out what it was that whizzed by us on the drop?

I was on the last MF train too. Last filled car, wearing a dark-blue jacket.

bholcomb, It was most likely one of the ride op's ID. When we got in the brakes I heard I ride-op saying they lost their ID on the ride.
