I waited for it in 2003 when it opened and after that all I have to say is that the coolest part of the Canyon is the Sign with the red light on it. We spent over an hour in line and finally we got in and walked a straight line through trees and fog with a warewolf here and there. After that we all said "That's it?" We couldn't believe we wasted that much time on it. I mean the canyon itself serves no purpose. You get no feeling of being in a canyon. If you're walking a straight line then why close a ride for it? I mean the thing itself has potential. Say it was longer or started at a different point. You could walk by all the stone and there could be warewolfs jumping across the canyon tops and stuff like that. It could be good.
I think, though, that the idea of it is scary. Just think: you don't know where you are and you're walking alone in a bunch of fog you can't see through with trees here and there that anything could be hiding behind. You get the feeling of being lost and alone. Even without things popping out at you, that itself is scary. The problem is, though, that when you're with a group of people, it defeats the purpose.
I would have to agree with a lot of you guys about Werewolf Canyon not being that great. Although I do enjoy it and the other haunted attractions, its just not scary or good as it could be. Walt mentioned earlier that cp wouldn't do anything off the wall with its haunted stuff and its probably for the best. However, compared to other parks such as Universal Studios and even Paramounts Carowinds, cp is definately lacking in its scare department. But once again, thats obviously not their main goal to be the best terror park.

It was full of fog, werewolves, and christmas trees.
Well... doesn't that sound like fun?

We walked through it this year.
It was a Saturday.....a 40 minute wait....
If I would have waited 3 hours, yes,I would be upset. But...it is what it is...and it was what I expected. Lots of fog...which i like...the more the better.
The BIGGEST problem is the spacing.
But fixing that would make the wait longer.
Hmm.
I hit WC back in it's opening season. Waited for over an hour then after I got done thought to myself, "what the hell was that all about?" I skipped last year and then made it back this year and decided to try it out again. Maybe they had improved it a little bit. Nope. I honestly hate it when people use the word "sucks" to describe how bad something is but this attraction sucks. (for lack of any better word) I liked going through the fright zone much better and the two haunted houses I went to (Vampires Lair and U.R. Dade). I guess I learned my lesson this year and will gladly give up my space in line to someone else in the upcoming years. :)

We went through last Friday, opening weekend. We went over there and got in line at about 9PM and waited just under an hour. I wish I wouldn't have waited. Saying it was lame would be putting it mildly. This was my first time going through it and I enjoy all the other haunted attractions, esp. Fright Zone, but this was beyond bad.
I don't know how previous years compare, but there wasn't enough trees to me - and actually it was quite funny because a lot of them were those fake indoor ficus trees in planters. The absolute worst part about it though is you are waiting in this huge queue for the longest time - there is no theming while you are waiting in line. At least they could have done something scenery-wise in the queue to kind of help your experience along. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
If I ever have to wait more than 5 minutes for this attraction in the future I will never do it again.

I would be willing to guess that there are a lot of people who do like Werewolf. Otherwise I doubt the lines would be as long as they are for it. We get lots of people asking in the Fright Zone how to get to it.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I've never been to Warewolf Canyon before is it the same as walking on the Frontier Trail through the Fog and darkness? I'm anxious to try it this year if my friends are willing to go on it with me.
