I was going to try out Werewolf Canyon this year but I have a few questions first. Is it a walk through like the Fright Zone or is it a walk through like the haunted houses? Next to you walk on that island that TC goes around? Finally I saw a bridge next to that petting barn thing. Is that part of WC?
In previous years, you would enter the queue across from Snake River Falls' exit. There would be a small skit about werewolves, and then you would wait an hour+ in line. Then you'd be broken down into groups of like 6-10 or something, and taken up to somewhere near where the platform of Thunder Canyon is. You would walk in the direction opposite water flow during the summer back to where the observation deck is, where you would exit.
It was full of fog, werewolves, and christmas trees.
Yeah... I heard it's not worth the wait.
Haven't done it personally, so I couldn't say. My favorite was the U.R. Dade University of blah blah blah. Got some cool special effects, as opposed to just guys jumping out saying BOO.

I don't think its worth the wait. It was pretty bad. We waited something like 3 hours and then inside it was so crowded you could see everything that was going to happen in front of you. It needed to be more spaced out, but the problem is it would make the line much longer.

Wha?
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
yea, walking through, you more worried about running into a "christmas trees" then being frightend by a werewolve. The werewolve would jump out at you and you would just be like "Get out of my way, i am trying to get past all these trees"

"If it looks good, you'll see it; if it sounds good, you'll hear it, if it's marketed right, you'll buy it; but... if it's real, you'll feel it."
The only time I've been thru Werewolf Canyon was the first day it was open, the year it was introduced (2003, if I remember correctly?!?)
It was (as I remember from a quote on here at the time: ) "like shopping for a christmas tree... with werewolves"
Too many pine trees... too much fog... and very underwhelming in the "scare" department. At the time, I passed it off as normal first-day stuff. But, as I've heard, it never got much better. The incredibly long line, and lack of hearing about any improvements, has kept me away since.

It's too bad too, because it could have been a great attraction, it just hasn't been pulled off super great. I'll probably take another walk through it again this year and see if it's gotten any better since 2003.
If last year was any indication on how they make improvements, it'll just be a longer christmas tree shopping spree.
Werewolf Canyon was lame. Way too much fog and only 3 werewolves to come out and go 'ah.' What they need is something to make a loud, deep and sudden noise at various times to catch people off guard. That's what gets people blood flowing. The lame sounds effects are just that... lame.

I know that waiting for Werewolf Canyon is very long. I plan a week-end at CP in October. I would like to try this attraction but since it will be my first and last trip to the Point this year, I am not interested to spend 2 or 3 hours in line... Should I plan to go to the Canyon on Friday night? How long is the wait time on Friday nights?
Lines will probably still be a little long on Friday nights. Werewolf Canyon and the U.R.Dade Haunted House are the only two attractions open in the back of the park on Friday's. The hanuted house ususally doesn't have that long of a line (~10-15 minutes), but Werewolf always seemed to. Last year my brother and I waited 45 minutes for Werewolf Canyon. Like others have said, there was plenty of fog and trees, but not enough wolves. The petting zoo/barn was also interesting. It made the attraction a little longer, but didn't seem to go with the rest of the attraction. What does a metal version of the three little pigs blaring with a lot of bass, a barn, and evil looking pigs with butcher knives have anything to do with werewolves?
You don't remember the story of the Big Bad Wolf who huffed and puffed and blew the house down? :)
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
The only good thing about it that i remember last year we were waiting in line and my sister was leaning on the wooden part of the fence, by the platform by the grass and a werewolf came up behind her and scared the crap out of her, it was great. Everyone except for my sister saw him coming so we all got really silient, it was so funny!!

Come to think of it, I never connected the werewolves and big bad wolf. Stupid me.
If the canyon hasn't changed much from years past, they should scrap the idea and go with twisted fairy tales montage since they already have the three little pigs. They could really make it into a no children allowed attraction ;). The bears catch and eat Goldielocks because she "tastes just right." The three blind mice go after the farmer's wife witha carving knife, etc. I know it sounds sick and twisted :), but it would probably be a heck of a lot scarier than 4 werewolves, a lot of fog, and 50 christmas trees. Here's for a really scary, adult only attraction.
I think that they extended WC again for this year. I have this years plans and last years plans. I waited about 15 minutes for it and it still was not worth the wait. I was dissapointed. they need a better story line. If they wanted an adult attraction about werewolves eating people then they should have had werewolves eating people (acting of course) more like resident evil or dawn of the dead stuff. that would have got a better reaction. peace mike
You're never going to see that. As they say, high on startle, low on gore. If you want that stuff, go to a haunted house. Cedar Point isn't the right place for it and it they don't need that type of attraction anyway.
I've gone to a Halloween Horror Night at IOA last year. It was so cool, the park is completely different during those times. The houses are actually scary, and they have 3 or 4 "fright zone" type walk throughs, but as walt said cedar point isn't about all the blood and gore like IOA horror nights were. It'd be cool to see it at CP but it will never happen. Oh yeah they did have a twisted fairytail haunted house. It's deff something i'd want to see again.
