WereWolf Canyon

hi there is Werewolf Canyon a scary attraction? And the lines for haunted houses are they long and whats the best thing there on halloweekends?

1) I didnt think WWC was that scary.. I was personally disappointed by it, but I think that was only because it was hyped up so much and advertised.

2) From my experiences over the last few years, lines for haunted houses are usually about 15 mins, +/- 10.

3) I think the best thing there on Halloweekends is just the general atmosphere! The way they totally fog-out the entire frontier trail is amazing! Its a really cool effect, and the way things are plotted out are just really fun. :)

Also, the fog from frontierstown carries over by MF, and last year it was SO thick, that the bottom half of MF's drop and lower track were just covered in it. I was riding front seat with my brother, and the train just dropped down into the dark fog, leveled out, came up around the turn OUT of the fog, and then back down into it. It was the best ride ive ever taken on MF. :)

Is Werewolf canyon inside TC's trough? I heard that but I didn't know if I took it the right way or not...

yes it is. There is also fog upto your chest.

Sounds cool. I think Halloweekends would be really fun. Maybe next year I could do a trip in October.

All it was was a ton of fog with christmas trees on the sides. There was maybe 1 or 2 people in costume. Fright factor is in the negative digits for this thing, unless you are afraid of not being able to see more than 2 feet in front of you due to intense fog,if that is the case,it is terrifying. Definitely not worth the 1-1.5 hour wait I endured last year.
I agree, WWC was a joke. I was pretty excited about it last year, but after I went through it the first night of Halloweekends I never even thought about walking through it again. I did enjoy the number of people it sucked into its line, and thus creating atleast marginally shorter lines for other rides.
WereWolf Canyon was a good idea that was just executed horribly. I remember "Ranger Rick" popping out of the fog to tell us to "keep an eye on our buddies" and then a few feet later he was gone and we were surrounded by people in cheesy wolf costumes.

It was cool going through the trough of Thunder Canyon and the entrance was the coolest part of the ride. Seeing the sign and the warnings on the small cabin just inside the entrance got me so excited, but then, after seeing some of the wolf costumes, it was incredibly dissapointing.

I'll give it another shot again this year if they do it again, and hopefully it'll be better.

werewolf canyon's entrance was sort of deceiving too. it looked like a relatively short line, but that was just to get to the "introduction", with the actors setting up the storyline... then you turn a corner and see the actual queue. i remember a lot of people just turning around at that point.
Werewolf Canyon is supposed to be upgraded this year somehow and/or expanded. Hopefully this will mean a longer canyon path, less trees & more werewolves.

To me, the scariest part WAS not knowing where you were walking & not knowing what was in front of you because you could NOT see anything more than a foot in front of you. I actually loved it. You have to say that it is definately more frightening than say the U.R. Dade School attraction.

I'm personally excited for it again. =o)

As many said, it was a good idea last year, but the execution left a lot to be desired. I've been assured that a lot of thought has gone into improving it this year.

It'll be longer this year by about 50' it looks like.

There's a new exit ramp being built behing Pet Farm heading out of the canyon. It's gonna p0wn (or something like it).

Is there any really scary houses at CP during Halloweekends. I'm deciding weather or not its worth going in October.

You're never going to find a really scary R Rated haunted house at CP. But if you have friends who scare easily, or want to be able to ride some awesome coasters in between hauntings, then you'll probably do well to go to CP.

This is the first time I'm going for Halloweekends. I'm taking my fiancee and a couple friends of ours. She and Dan hate coasters, but Maggie (Dan's wife) loves them. So they can ride other things while we hit coasters, and then we can get together to do haunted houses and some flat rides.

On a side note, anyone going to be there the 8,9,10 of October? I'm going to make a thread in the meetings area in Mid-September, but figured since I'm on the subject I might as well check.

I went to Halloweekends for the first time last year. I found it to be "worth going". It is interesting to see the park at the time of the year and all the work they put into Halloweekends.

The fact that WereWolf Canyon is in TC's trough makes me wonder. I know that TC's water comes right from Lake Erie. Because it is all fogged so you can't see the trough, I wonder what it actually looks like. For those who have seen the trough empty in the summer. What does it look like?

Is CP hiding this from us?

Also, how do they get people out of the canyon?

Do they have the exit ramp before the canyon starts, so it's easy to get people out?

They build an exit out of the canyon. last year it was at the observation deck for Thunder Canyon, this year is behind the petting zoo somewhere.

Also, you can kinda see the trough, and why would you suggest any conspiracy with something as simple as Thunder Canyon? Cedar Point usually doesnt hide stuff.

If you get over to the observation deck erly enough you can usually see the empty trough.

And before anyone asks, yes they do remove the boards and pipes on the Canyon floor for Werewolf Canyon. Although I think it make WWC much more fun if they just left them in. ;)
