Sunday afternoon, I decided to join my friends Andrew and his girlfriend at the point, for an extremely fun afternoon!
While my friends were at the park for at least a couple of hours when I got there, I arrived a little after 2, and we stopped at Johnny Rockets for lunch. The wait wasn't too long, and Andrew and I stopped in Park Ops to say Hi to our old boss while waiting. Once we got seated, we waited a while for our server to take our orders, but once he finally came, he gave us pretty good service. Unfortunately, the food was not a great value, and I don't know if I'll be eating there much this year.
After Johnny Rockets, the title of this thread was born, as we decided to go Streaking on the best coaster of the day. On Sunday, Blue Streak was amazing. It was "haulin'," with amazing air. Now this may sound blasphemous to my fellow Magnum lovers, but on Sunday Blue Streak simply blew Magnum away!
After Blue Streak, we stopped at Raptor, which didn't have much of a line, and we decided to wait for front seat. Unfortunately, there was a guest illness, and the ride went down for cleaning. This is where we had one of the highlights of our day. Brian, who was spieling, kept the crowd entertained while we waited, asking questions about the ride, and making what would normally be frustrating time a fun time!
I liked his spieling so much, I complemented him, and he suggested going to Park Ops. On my 2nd visit to Park Ops, I wrote him a complement, (and also mentioned Gemini's great spiels opening day), while also complementing him to Mike Ott.
After this, we played Skee-Ball, went on some more rides, and ended the night on Dragster. I was able to get 2 rides in, with the 2nd coming close to a rollback. Unfortunately, my friends got only 1 ride.
At the end of the day, I stopped by Park Ops one last time, and complemented Brian to the Manager of the department, in addition to complementing the Mean Streak crew for excellent clears, with NO BLUE TAGS IN SIGHT. I see great things from that crew this year, if they can keep it up!
Overall, we had a great time at the park, and the employees were simply EXCELLENT. Having worked at an amusement park before, I have a lot of respect for the hard work the seasonal employees at the park do, and they will ultimately be what helps drive attendance this year thanks to repeat visits!
Finally, today I got a letter back from the park thanking me for the compliments. I LOVE this level of guest service!
