We(DH and I) are at the baby step start of planning a

trip to cedar point
I am guessing it wont take as much planning as our trio to WDW did, please correct me if Im wrong
Just curious as to what everyone reccomends as far as how many days to have fun,,and get to enjoy everything...should we stay ON the property or is nearby enough? and what is a good time of year to visit for the crowds to be be thinned out BUT not cold enough that we cant ride the rides
we are both big kids and love thrill rides...the scarier the better

The park is coming into full stride right now. It will be busy pretty much everyday (except for rainy days) between now and late August. When school starts up and football season/practice starts it'll die out. I would recommend going late in August, early in September, or one of the first fri/sat/suns during halloweekends.

Hotel rooms reflect this too. I've noticed different rooms off point are about twice as high now as they were in mid-May and will be in late august/september. If you stay on Point it will be much more expensive, but you'll get in an hour early.

I would suggest coming to the park durring Halloweekends. The park is truely funner, and has a really cool feeling to it. If you did come during Halloweekends I would suggest staying Friday-Sunday. Friday you would be able to ride as much as you want. Saturday you can catch a few shows, rides and then the haunts.

If you have a Platinum Pass, I would advise against staying On-Point since you will get early entry anyways. If you do not have a platinum pass, staying on property may be a better option allowing early entry and excellent deals on tickets. It all depends on how much you wish to spend, there are also some decent hotels located about 5-10 minutes from the park that will be a lot cheaper than Cedar Points.

The weather is kind of weird during October and September. One day could be 90 then the next 60. It all depends. But trust me if you go to Halloweekends it's always fun and their is a lot to do plus all the amazing rides. Parades, amazing Haunted houses, great walk-thru haunts, really good shows, and just a great themed atmosphere to the park.

I hope this helps.

When I saw "DH" I just knew there was going to be some kind of Disney reference in here. I still haven't grasped what it means, but I see it all the time on DIS boards.

I'm not sure what the "official" meaning is, but I've seen it referred to as Dear Husband, Darling Husband and Disney Husband.
