Webmaster Jeff

Just wondered how many times you hit the POINT every year and about how far away you live? What are your tricks? I would not go to the park less it had just rained or i had my joe cool pass(then i would take right off unless it was not busy).

Im trying to convince the wife to retire near Sandusky(she thinks it is a joke, but I don't think it is).

Please Jeff, give me something to get the Ol Lady to retire next to the greatest place on earth.

Cedar Point is pretty cool, but it's not even in the top ten of places I'd want to retire around.

I would definately want to live by CP. You could get a season pass and withdrawls wouldn't be a problem anymore because you wouldn't have any. :)

This topic reminds me of "the eternal question"...

Retire by Cedar Point? Bah, too....... Cedar Point-ish. Why would you want to retire there when you could retire someplace near a lake and a small park? Like Lakeside, that would be a nice place to retire to. A great park, a great coaster (hey, the Cyclone looks pretty cool) and a bigger park nearby. Not to mention there's a lake there. :)

Cedar Point's all grand in the summer, but I don't know who in their right mind would choose to live in northern Ohio for the winter...

Well put mantis_man. Us Ohioans know that our state is not the place to retire just a few months out of the year.

Welp, since I live in Michigan...northern ohio is down south for me. lol. I would still want to live in Sandusky. Sure, the winter would suck...but the summer would be awesome.

I have been away from CP, and the fact that I don't know when I am going to get back is literally killing me. It just depresses me. If I lived in Sandusky, I wouldn't be having this problem.

To bring an old post to life, why not retire near the point? You can go to the point all summer, ride waverunners all the time in the lake. Vacation in Vegas during the winter, how better to end your life? This to me is life, my wife, rollercoasters and waverunners.

Whoa, Sparty posted! Is the world comming to an end or somthing?

Uh, even though CP is an awesome place, I have a huge list of places I want to go and see. Cedar Point is just kind of one of those ::wake up saturday:: "Hey you want to go to CP?" trip.

Why move away from family, friends and all the things and places you've grown to love?

If you live your life right, when you get to retirement age, you will have plenty of time and money to travel.

Personally, I love the lake and the western part of Lake Erie, including CP. I wouldn't want to move away. But, I've seen plenty of cool places in the U.S. and Europe that I will want to visit again, and I know of many new places I want to visit also. Retirement to me will be keeping my home base where I am, and doing lots of traveling and sightseeing around the world.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I'd like to live in a place by a nice lake and maybe a bigger size park. Oh wait, location of CP:

A large park jetting into Lake Erie, the 4th largest lake in the world.

I don't know about anyone else on PB, but I don't live that far from Sandusky and the offseason is pretty miserable, especially March and April when the weather is getting better and the park isn't open yet. I can only imagine what withdrawls would be like come spring and driving around Sandusky. At least I put some distance between me and my summer home. :)

As one who does NOT live in The Great State Of Ohio, I would love to retire by The Point. My Mom bought my Grandma's house and rebuilt it. It is in Huron and about 100 yrds from Lake Erie. I live in Missouri and let me tell you this place is miserable..

1)You have to drive 10 hours just to get to CP...

2)Six Flags Sucks..........but it is better than nothing but not much.

3)Summers here are the absolute worst... The words Heat Index were invented to describe summer here. And it is not a DRY heat.

4)I hate not having a White Christmas....Last year it was 65 degrees on Christmas. It was actually colder in July of this year for a couple of days.

and finally - - you have to DRIVE 10 hours to get to CP.....

but hey, it's just my opinion....and opinions are like butts...Everybody has one!!!

Please remain seated until the ride comes to a complete AND final stop.....

I wouldn't mind it if I could live right on the lake. Ohio may not be the best state to live in, but its not any worse than Southeast Michigan, where I live now.

Ohio is not dry heat either!

Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!

Cedar Point is cool, but in my mind, other than cedar point, sandusky could be one of the most boring places ive ever been to.

Sandusky isn't any different than any other average city in this country. Using similar arguments, I could say that 95% of this country is boring.

I have a different plan. When I retire from the U (ideally I could retire as of Thursday this week), I would like to spend April through October working at CP, and spend November through March somewhere warm.

My ideal job? Working in the landscaping department at CP.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead
