I am a little glad they will turn the webcam off during the winter. I went to look at it today (as I always do to see the crowds) and the park looks so lonely. I hope to get up there for a few weekends but I'm realizing that summer is officially over (in the amusement kind of way).
I think they should keep it on since that's where all the construction will be. We could see live construction happening as they build the new rides. I did look at it earlier today and saw a couple of vans and a golf cart drive down the Gemini midway.
This is so funny, because I just checked out the webcam myself, like a minute ago, and was thinking the same thing...so sad an lonely. AND look at all the hungry seagulls...lol...they're looking for food!!
I was thinking how sad the empty parking lot looked this morning with all the low, gray clouds. So different from this past weekend...but Friday is coming.
I am not the "The" single rider Bob, but again this Friday I'll likely be "a" single rider Bob.
I never got into the whole staring at a webcam of empty midways thing.
I use it for checking out crowds when open, that's all. I would love just a parking lot webcam (not having to rely on the dragster cam to see it).

I actually wouldn't mind seeing the park in snow over the winter.
It's very, VERY cold, very, VERY windy and it snows an awful lot.
Too cold for my blood. I'd never want to spend more than a short while out there. The idea of a winter/holiday fest is really nice, in theory, but I don't think it would ever play out.
They normally leave them on unless in construction areas at least at first. They have even setup a Christmas tree with lights the last few years within frame as well!
I am always pretty bummed out the Tuseday after Labor Day and the park is closed. I had a great day with my family Monday and it was painful being back in my office yesterday. I live close to CP and it was very cloudy and cool yesterday, only adding a bit of a reminder of how soon the park will be closed for the off season. I like to look at the web cams as well, but it was a real bummer seeing the empty park. I have always had a hard time with good times coming to an end. :-)

You're reminding me of the old commercial with the pictures of the park with snow warning that summer is almost gone and you better get to the point now while you still can.
Paisley, I remember that commercial as well. I read that it was one of the most effective commercials ever made. I was teaching a marketing class at the time.
Fences and Barriers on the Parking Lot cam.. Is there something going on soon, like a marathon or something?
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
Rev3 event is this weekend.
Cedar Point opens in 1 hr. 15 min. and they still have not put the Carnevil stand away (according to the live cam). Or is this supposed to stay out, I forget.
Am I the only one who can't get the live cam to load?
Also, on the still cams, I know there is the triathlon today but why are so many people at the park. It's only 9:45 and I saw the sky ride and Raptor running already.
