Weather

Last year everyone was complaining about the heat up there. This year it's the rain.

Has the best weather day this year been GateKeepers media day? Couldnt have asked for anything better than it was!

When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835

Have they released any attendance reports yet? I'd imagine their attendance would be down a little due to rain this year.

I went on a rainy day in June and it rained most of the morning and cleared up in the afternoon. After it cleared up, everything was pretty much walk-on. There was no line for Gatekeeper at all when I rode in the evening. I only waited about 15 minutes for it when the park opened that morning. I left the park around 7PM because I rode everything I wanted to.

There were no numbers listed, but in the Analyst Day presentation, the park said:

"Strong early season performance by KBF, CP and CGA in both attendance and in-park spend".

Though today wasn't quite as crowded as 4th of Julys have been in years past, there were nonetheless a lot of people at the park considering it rained all day. Seems like people visiting the Point may be less concerned with weather this year, given that attendance is up despite the fact that the weather has been crummy thus far ?

Thrills Around the Corner!

Weather has been awful so far this year -- I went to the Point 7 days in June, and it rained during all or part of all seven -- of course, it was the same at the beginning of the month when I went to WDW and it rained all four days nonstop, the worse I've ever seen in Orlando...

Here's hoping July is a bit dryer - though so far it doesn't look like it

I'm hitting parks despite the crummy forecasts. Gotta go when I can go. Most of the time it works out fine.

The weather right now is looking mighty great. I don't know about the Sandusky area, but in east Ohio, we will be getting plenty of sunshine. By the way, anybody there yesterday? It looked like a total washout and there was even a tornado warning

I looked on the live webcam after the storms passed and it looked like everything was running normally up there. But Akron, near where I live got hit hard with flooding.

I was in the park July 10th when there was a tornado warning. It was actually the Tornado Warning that prompted me to go! I left as soon as the Tornado Warning was issued and by the time i arrived at the park the storm was long gone (i live in toledo). It was a short 15 min wait while they tested all of the rides and after the rides open every thing was a 15 min wait or less. I ended up riding Gatekeeper 13 times between 7pm and 9pm. If you have a season/platinum pass, the weather can really work to your advatange! A Tornado Warning in Erie Co. is just crowd control for Cedar Point! ;)

I did read on this forum that if it rains in Detroit and or Cleveland, head to the Point because that's the majority of people that go there
