Weather

Welcome to Ohio gentlemen! :)

No need for a welcome, I have lived here 25 years.:) That aside, the weather we have had this week is unusual for Sandusky, especially he intensity of the storms this past weekend.

^Yeah, those are June-August ones! Who knows what might come later those months?

Weather.com is listing 66 degrees with a 0% chance of precipitation for Saturday. If it ends up raining I am officially done with weather forecasts...

I love it. :) Perfect shorts weather.

^ It's down to 62 and mostly sunny now. Still a "0%" chance of rain. Looks like I'll be throwing on jeans and a light coat, but I'll take it!

You may want to bring a better jacket. Once the sun goes down, or if your in line for wicked twister, your gonna need it.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Funny watching everyone talk about the bipolar forecasts. For what it's worth, Sandusky had a forecasted high of 74 today. It is currently 80 :)

Yet it doesn't feel like 80 out either, at least not on the end of town I am in. It has been getting very windy out within the last couple of hours.

I thought you would be chasing the tornados right about now. :)

What tornadoes? I've been driving home from Oklahoma all day :)

So can some weather guru give me a synopsis for this Saturday? I've been trying to follow the weather radar on weather.com, but just when I think the storm (headed our way) is breaking up it looks a little stronger, but scattered.

Anyone? I could make it Sunday, but would MUCH rather head out for Saturday.

Forecasts I see indicate a chance of thunderstorms on Saturday. But who knows.

In my lifetime, the presentation of weather forecasts has gotten 1000 times better. The graphics, doppler 15 million and the like are incredible. But I don't think the accuracy of the forecasts has improved at all.

My dad used to say when I was a kid that if you want to know what the weather in Cleveland will be tomorrow, tell me what the weather was today in Chicago and that will be as accurate as what the weather folks say.

I'm hoping that the storms roll in tomorrow and early Saturday and are gone by noonish on Saturday. It wouldn't be a bad thing to have the storms around just long enough to keep people out of the park, but if they're still around come 3:00 or 5:00 p.m. the whole day will be shot.

I don't eat there for the women. I guess, looking at it though, I don't have a BWW closer to my house than Hooters so that may explain why I probably go to Hooters 3 or 4 times a year, and BWW, maybe once.

Wing wise, I don't see a big difference really anywhere I go. Sometimes a bar will have unbelievable wings, then sure enough, same bar, one week later, they suck. I just like Hooters because, unlike most bars, they offer different flavors besides just buffalo.

Quaker Steak and Lube ;)

I think I'm going to go Sunday. I may book a hotel and go Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday, but Saturday looks like it's going to be pretty crappy until about 5:00 or 6:00.

djDaemon's avatar

That's what I'd do, Kyle - Saturday through Sunday. Saturday's weather should keep the park relatively slow for the evening.

I'm liking the idea more and more. Plus there is something to be said for the enjoyment you feel when you are at the park and you think "I get to do this all again tomorrow!"

I didn't want to start a new thread just for 2013, but has anyone noticed that almost every day at CP is either rainy, cloudy, foggy, or cold? I've only been there eight (total) days this year, but looking at pictures/videos/webcams of CP, it's almost always grey- I'm not trying to complain though.

Is this just me?

No it's not just you. I've been there 5 times this year and 3 of those visits were gloomy and rainy. Looks like it's going to be like that come Thursday too. This stinks because they might not light up the Fireworks if it's raining.
