I don't know if they had to pay for all of it but I doubt Intamin was going to eat all of that cost.

I've been watching the live action cam, and it looks like SRF has not been running the last few days. Anybody else notice that or have any official info on what's going on with the ride?
I was at the park yesterday and it was down all day. Quit disappointing seeing as it was like 98 degrees!
Snake River Falls had no wait on the hottest day of the year, yesterday.
It was closed.

Are you freaking kidding me? This is an CP Forum...man some of you guys take the fun out of being able to discuss ANYTHING on this site. The "evidence" that I have that some of you really need to get a life is posted right above me. Man.....
Not harpin on ya but part of the discussion board experience is dealing with others who might challenge you on things. Dj made logical points which might have came across as a little "hard". I've learned over the years that some people might not have the smoothest way of making points. But they are who they are and you shouldn't let that get to you.
All I'm saying is lighten up a bit. Dj and his input is as much part of this site as yours are. Plus, isn't it a bit silly to be saying to members of a roller coaster discussion board to "get a life"......especially when you're part of it? :)

As far as budgets are concerned, do you remember all of the downtime and issues StR had before it even opened? Retro fitting boats, retro fitting the trough...
As I said at the time, the initial problems with StR, while not ideal, were never nearly as big a deal as the doomsday folk around here would have had you believe.
A modern ride is probably built with a life expectancy of 30+ years. We'll assume 110 days per water ride season, for a total of 3,300 days of total operation during the ride's lifetime. StR opened 42 days late, meaning the delays that so many had their panties in a bunch over represent 1.3% of StR's operational lifetime. That's pretty insignificant.
...along with many other items needing worked on. It's safe to say it went over budget.
I don't know about that. A few questions... What was the budget? What is CP's target cost-per-rider for StR? Was CP responsible for any or all of the cost of the modifications? Without this and other information, it's not "safe to say" anything about the StR's performance.

If Intamin screwed up the initial design, you better believe they were going to eat the entire cost of fixing it to make it work. Cedar Point didn't pay for a single penny of the work to retrofit the boats and rework things to make the ride operate to their expectations.

All I know is what I know. ;)
I'm not going to be like others on here and throw around my 'sources' and 'I know it's true' type posts.
I know you guys are skeptical and are very good at playing devils advocate and really trying to figure out what/who you can trust.

It's safe to say that water will be involved :)
This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!
So then I can assume then that the consensus is that STR has not really lived up to it's expectations and has some room for much needed improvements and or upgrades? That is my "opinion" and don't need to have my entire post broken down and analyzed by people who really should be focusing on other things...like trying getting laid.
Why worry about getting laid when there's coasters to ride? I hear they're just as long and just as thrilling. :)

Hopefully it lasts longer than TTD tho..
How do you think Adam got the nickname "The Dragster Nut"?

This brings new meaning to "standing, but not operating."
