I applied for the marketing internship with Annie Zelm.
She asked me, "tell me a time when you did something wrong and you had to own up to it."
I told her about a time at my current work place when I got into an argument with a customer. I did apologize to this customer for arguing with her..
It was an honest answer though...
I didn't want to say something really lame like... "Uhhh I lied to my mom about walking the dog when I really didn't. I eventually told her I was sorry"
The rest of the interview went very well though. She seemed to be interested in the answers I was giving her to her other questions.
FYI - For future reference, we don't have customers at Cedar Point - they're our guests.
(fellow Ride Warriors is also okay)
Good luck!
Well yes they are guests in the park, but I would also consider them customers since they pay to get in, and they they may be a customer of a certain food place or gift shop in the park.
If one question went bad and the rest of the interview went well, I don't think there's a problem! Just, next time you're asked that question, don't refer to your work experience, but an every day life situation.
In the parks, they're always guests. Get used to that. Even in the restaurants and stores, everywhere they are guests to the park.
I would have talked about a time when I made a wrong decision and what I learned from it. In an industry thats driven by service, I wouldn't have told them how you argued with a customer.
Not necessarily it was a truthful answer and sometimes that is what they are looking for. Also if you hired in training they will drill into your head that they are guest and we are to make them feel as if they are visiting in our homes and not just spending money.
