Warning to people who wear Glasses

I wear Glasses my self and from what I am reading at the offical site (no not this site the real offical site) Glasses will not be promited to be worn on Power Tower or Millennium Force. I guess for me, so much for seeing anything clear. What do you think

what if you had some type of strap on the glasses that went around your head to secure them.

"look at all the gum on the wall"
Most people are smart enough to remove their eyewear before thay get on most high speed rides. It's just common sense.

Actually, well-fitted glasses (not el-cheapo sunglasses) don't move. I"ve never had a problem with my glasses budging on ANY ride.

I've seen more people lose their glasses because they WERE wearing straps than people who didn't have straps. The strap gets caught on something like their hands flailing around, and whoosh...
I just got contacts a month ago, so now I'm not blind on rides! Six days!
I know a lady that is head of Park Operations and she e-mailed me and said that you have to wear some strap on your glasses or just simply take them off or they will not let you ride. They will sell straps and other clothing near the ride.

The future is riding on it!

i also have contacts, but when i used to wear glasses i would take my case with me and put them in there

oh don't worry, the first hill isn't all that baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadddddddddd!!!!!
For some of us it is a very bad idea to remove our glasses before riding. Let me put it to you this way: I generally have bad memories of breakfast by the time I get to the ride anyway. I don't need any reminders.

Second, on a high-speed ride such as Millennium Force, I would not dream of riding without my glasses additionally because my eyesight is important to me...and I have scraped enough insects and debris off of my glasses over the years to know that I have taken some rides after which I would probably have been blinded had I not been wearing my glasses.

Of course, this is not a problem for me provided that I can use a retention cord...which I have personally found to be a bad idea, but that's just me. So long as I can still ride. The next question is, how picky are they going to be about the strap? Many of the straps out there are incompatible with my glasses because the temples extend down below the back of my ear, so I have to use a cord that attaches to the upper part of the temple rather than one that goes over the earpiece...

I have never had any problems with my glasses. You would think that going 92 miles per hours would keep your glasses on.

I used to wear glasses, on magnum, power tower, mean streak, and more and never once did I have a problem with them falling off. The force, ha, keeps them on I guess. (Now I wear contacts.)
I wear contacts since I am about as blind as you can get 20/400. Last year while riding Power Tower with a friend, the ride op made him remove his glasses and he DID have a strap on. He didn,t like it, but politely did as he was asked. Isn't that what we should all do?
Here's the solution, get contacts. Seriously, they're so much better than glasses.

That's not really a "solution", though. Some of us can't WEAR contacts.

In the brochure they passed out when we were at the Season Pass center on Sunday specifically stated, eye glasses unless secured with a strap WILL NOT BE permitted on MF or Power Tower this year.
They don't make contacts to replace sunglasses. I have a pair of Gatorz sunglasses. I wore them on the Texas Giant back in March. If glasses are going to fall off on any ride, this would be it! It's a rough ride in a good sort of way, but my Gatorz never moved.
My contacts get too dry on coasters so I just wear my glasses to parks. I don't wear them on some rides, but like Dave, they have saved me twice on MS when very big bugs hit me in the eye. Both times the bugs were big and hard and had a strong enough impact that I would have been in big trouble without the glasses.
i have been on every ride at cp includng power tower with my glasses on and they didnt even budge. the only times i remember them coming off was during some rather nasty falls during Karate class... oh well. but i hope i can wear them on M.F. or else i wont be able to see, and that would suck.

If you can't wear them on MF, who's going to hold them while you ride? At least on Power Tower there is a place to put them.

I glad someone posted this warning. I have worn my glasses on all types of coasters and have never had a problem. Now I know to buy a strap before getting in line for MF. I would still ride MF without my glasses but it would not be nearly as fun.
I am not going to CP until May 31st, so if any you of other eye sight challenged people loose your glasses on MF, let me know!
