waits are tooo long

Hey all, I just have to say that the wait times at cedar point this year are ridiclous. Even when the TTD is open they are still long. Cedar point needs to expand the park more. It was kinda sad that even the stupid shops had a wait to go in.

They can't expand - they're out of space.

No, Walt, you're forgetting the parking lot remember? They're going to build a parking garage and expand to the causeway. </sarcasm>

The longest I've waited for anything, even on a busy day and not counting Dragster, was Millennium Force at 75 minutes. The second longest wait I had was Raptor at 25 minutes.

The park has arguable the highest capacity anywhere. It's simple... if the line is long you shouldn't get in it, because another line somewhere else is shorter.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

actually i read that cedar point might expand the park, it all depends on the success of the dragster. I also understand waits are longer and shorter on some rides, but if you waited 15 for a ride but really want to ride the MF you still will have to wait just as long, we waited 2.5 hours for millenium force on sat and it was after 10 too.

Everyone must wait their turn. Get in line and shut up. :-D

I figured that if you want to ride everything in the park, you might as well get in line and suck it up. You will eventually get to everything, even if the park is mildly crowded.
Raptor just amazes me with rider capacity. I don't have stats for capacity in the park, but from wait times I would have to say Raptor is my fav and as such has one of the shortest waits. If you are looking to ride the biggest and baddest you are going to wait. I am satisfied with rerides on Raptor, Wicked Twister and Magnum. I'll do freeway on MF.

There's the problem. Don't go on Saturday! :)

Without upstops, airtime would have a whole new meaning!

If they expand the lines then they cut down trees. When they cut down trees people complain because there isn't enough shade. Then when there is not enough shade people get hot. When people get hot they begin to stink. When people stink they bug me, so they shouldn't expand the park.

Now tell me Cedar Point is running out of space.

Jeff:

You said this:"It's simple... if the line is long you shouldn't get in it, because another line somewhere else is shorter."

That is absolutely the most astute piece of advice that I have read on this board.

I LOVE your thinking Fury.

Can someone please explain the Osbournes to me?

I guess what i didn't add was one it was hot this weekend, im sorry but me and heat don't mix very well. Two, saturday was my b-day and thats why i was there and we were there until monday and we usually stay sun, mon, tues. I know the whole deal on when its busy and how it is, it was my 10th time at the park this year. I just believe it is to long, theres to many people and not enough rides to keep the waits down.

Are you telling me that the park which touts having the most rides in one park on earth doesn't have enough rides to keep the lines down?

Sorry, please try again.

I really agree with Jeff's advice. If I see a long line (MF and TTD excluded) I just walk past because I know I can find a short one instead.

Who the Millennium Force ride ops made a special announcement for when he took his 100th ride on 8/12/03.

My wait time have been like Jeff's - until August. I have gone twice in August, on a Thursday and a Tuesday and the crowds have been really big. Magnum and Raptor 45 minutes, MF 2 hours (including a 20 minute period when the ride wasn't running. Even Mean Streak had a line, although it was no more then 10 minutes. Nothing CP can do about the lines, its just that a lot people are making their last trips before school starts.

Hmm well when I went to cedar point yesterday and ttd was closed for a while, the wait time for magnum was about an hour(long!). But when ttd opened the wait time was cut down to 10-15 minutes max. Thats very nice wait time. And the park was very very crowded too, especially around dragster. Millennium Force's wait was still about an hour and a half but they were running just two trains for a while, and what do you expect, its one of the best roller coasters in the world. Waiting an hour or so for it is no big deal. Power Tower was cut down to 10-15 minutes( depending what side you choose), and raptor, well, just get a free way you can walk right on in about 5 minutes. Dont come to this park and expect to get on every ride ten times, they are all worth waiting for(almost all of them lol). So, yes, when TopThrill is open, speedfreak, the wait times are cut down usually. Maybe you just went on a bad day. I know I didn't : )

yeah i know it was a bad day, problem is i can't ride the smaller wait rollercoasters, as in mean streak, magnum, and gemini, they all give me a headache and hurt to ride them. So thats just not an open for me. the only one i saw the other day with a short wait was the twister.

CP has phenomonal capacity, but they also have a very high amount of people coming in for the limited time that they are open during the year. Look at it this way, the more people there, the more money is being spent on the park, which is more money to go to more rides and attractions. No matter how many rides you build, you'll still have a crowd because more people will come to the park with the most rides. Besides, for the quality of rides at CP, I don't think the lines are that bad at all. For example, any time you can get less than a half hour wait on Magnum (which is almost guarenteed), you're waiting virtually nothing for one of the best coasters in the world. I'd have to say that CP's lines are very acceptable, and if you think differently, feel free to cut down on the lines yourself and stay home ;).
