Why the Troika queue? Thats all the way by Wicked Twister.
Because I like the ride and you can see if TTD is running.
Last time my friend and I were on dragster we sat with a little kid and played a golf game on my cell phone with him. The parents really liked the fact we were keeping him from getting tired or upset. He was about 10 years old or so. It actually helped time fly by. Usually though, we just would sit on the group and day dream.

My first and only experience with Dragster was great. We got there shortly after opening, went straight yo Dragster, waited about an hour and a half and got on with no break downs. If it would have broken down while we were in line we would have left and rode other rides.

I just go on PT shot because there's hardly anybody in line. And if your lucky enough to get a number or the one tower that faces Dragster then you can watch the mechanics fix it or if they're starting to let people in line. Of course this is all during the time you're being launched. *** Edited 4/16/2005 3:18:45 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***

I usually stay in line if it I already am. All the times I went, the ride was only down for 30 minutes or so. If they were expecting extended down time, I'd go ride other things and come back later.

That's the funny thing about it. The ride host says over the speaker "Top Thrill Dragster is currently down due to mechanical problems ......" you know the rest. People get upset and leave their spot in line. Then 5min after they get out of line it starts up again and they have to go all the way back to the beginning.
I've seen it happen hundreds of times. In fact one guy in front of me did the exact same thing and he asked me if he could get back in front of me and I said yes. I wish I didnt because when it came time to ride, he got the train I was supposed to get and got a rollback. :)

You have to take a stand when it comes to theme park lines. He decided to get out of line therefore decided to pay the consequence. My point is in the long run patient people are alot wiser (a) you should know if you get out of a line you just have to start in the back all over again and (b) what are you going to do get out just to wait in another long line. My best advice is be patient and if there really is a long downtime bring a portable music player so you don't have to hear repeated music for a while(that just makes time go alot slower)
I think Cedar Point should have put a DJ for Dragster to get rid of repeated music. Millennium, Mantis, Power Tower, and others have them so why didnt Dragster get one?
Although I bet it's because there wouldn't of been enough room for it seeing how the queue is designed.
But oh well....

Is there Power Tower DJ existant? The only rides that I have ever seen a DJ at were MF and Magnum.

As far as I know, there is no longer a DJ at Power Tower. The booth is still standing, but I haven't seen a DJ there for at least 3 years now. Just like Magnum, the lines really aren't long enough on a regular basis to make having a DJ in those lines worth it.
Cedar Point rocks my socks.
Yeah. If it is a long line(which, as MillenniumMan said, hardly is) it's most concentrated on the drop side not on the launch side. Thats why I go on the launch side. It's a good ride with a short wait. *** Edited 4/17/2005 8:31:02 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***

Hmm I never thought about not having a DJ at Dragster. You really would think that they should have one, since it has some of the longest lines.
On the topic of waiting during a breakdown, I always laugh at people if they get out of line because of rain or a break down and then it opens like 5 minutes later. I have seen it happen on MF on countless occasions and I just say in my head or to my friends "haha suckers." At an amusement park that usually has long lines you have to have patience, if not, don't be there.

When Dragster breaks down, people farther up in the queue start to leave. When that happens I'm not thinking "HAHA sucker", I'm thinking "The more people that leave the shorter the wait is for me." :) *** Edited 4/17/2005 8:43:52 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***

The longest I had to wait when it was running was 15 minutes with no break downs.
The longest I waited was 8 hours without riding it. It wasn't running the three days I was there, I never rode it before and so we said the last day we are waiting! They were doing test runs all day. Then with employees on it. The 1/2 hour before the park closed they said it's not opening tonight indefinatly. (I said this somewhere else, and I don't remember where I posted it, sorry for repeating myself)
But now since I finnally rode it last year 12 times in a row, if it breaks down I'll chat with people in line sometimes, wait 15 minutes and leave.
TTD 120mph, I agree, but I do laugh at the people that immediatly get out of line, only for it to start back up 5 minutes later.
