This is the first time I file a tax form for my none-resident state and need help.
For those who come from a different state, is it better to withhold myself from the Ohio Income Tax (third box) since I am from Michigan?
Thank You
No, don't withhold yourself from the tax. You'll end up paying more at the end of the year when you file your taxes than if you just have the taxes taken out now.

Oh, that's how it works. I thought it meant that I will just file the MI Tax Return in place for the OH Tax Return. But I got it now. Thanks
That explains by dumb mistake. I do have to pay the state (MI) as soon as my bank checks come in (I know I will be late). I should this year just pay Ohio taxes right out of the check.

If I remember correctly, you should probably check that box. They will not take state taxes out for Ohio, but you will have to file a Michigan state tax return.
I can only think of one state in the nation I'd rather not send my tax dollars to more than Michigan, and that's Ohio! :)
campfreak06 may be thinking of Federal withholdings. That is different. If you are from one of the (I think 5) states listed on the State Tax exemption, then YES fill out the information to make you exempt from Ohio taxes.Since you don't live in Ohio, they do not deserve to take your money. You owe to Michigan either way, but don't let Ohio take it too.
