Voice you opinion to CP about the assigned seating

Hey boots, even if I had not had the chance to ride in the front seat I would be ok with the policy. Everytime since my first ride, I have had the policy "enforced" on me so it is the luck of the draw.
There is NO difference between your suggestion and the current policy, the only difference being you wait "in the station" instead of the que. People would still want the front seat and you would end up with half empty trains.
I leave it to the "experts" in this case CP ride operations, to operate the ride in the MOST EFFICIENT manner. While this might not be my personal favorite mode of operation, I will defer to their expertise.

well see when i rode it for my third time, an angel blessed me and gave me back seat and i was last to go through the counters. i also sat in 5-1 and was pretty far back.

Personally I like the system, I've ridden in the front, and the back several times. I've ridden it enough times to where I really don't care where I sit.

I just feel sorry for the people that have come great distances to ride the Force. When I say great distance I'm talking atleast 500+ miles, the people who can only get one lap because they live so far and come out and ride whenever they want.

Punk, an angel doesn't have to bless you to give you the back, if you're the 10th person in or something like that, you can pick WHATEVER seat you want that is open-the back is probably open because people usually fill in from front to back not knowing this.

The assigned seating doesnt bother me either-
what ever CP has to do to get people on and off in a timely matter-go for it
I have sat just about in every area of the trains-they are all awesome
dont worry-I anticipate the assigned seating wont be in effect next year....
or maybe it will

Really, when the ride gets a bit older, they will adopt the policy they have w/ every other coaster, or at least I hope so. I mean, the station is equipped for that with the front and back seat queue being longer than the rest and all.

I'm of the mind that when I wait 2 hours to get to the station, only to be shunted to a reject seat, I'm going to be ticked. Which is going to reduce my enjoyment of the park. Which is why i spend money there. Which is why Cedar Point exists.

This policy seems self-defeating in that the amount that it angers people seems to be overwhelming the speed advantage to it.

Imagine if they did this on Magnum and you couldn't get 1.2-3 anymore. Dan.

no MFistheBest, a miracle did. two older men who were 3rd through went straight back to the last car, front row(how many cars on mf?). then, two kids went in to backseat, but then turned away. i was the last to go through and i got the back. not everyone just fills up the front first. atleast thats the way it was all day tuesday

While I don't care that much, RideMan is right, why not do it like Raptor? If the line is full, you lose. Such is life. But the fact is that if I could get seat 1-2 every time, I probably would.

Yes, the initial waits for the front seat were huge, but it never prevented the rest of the train from being filled, not even once. It's clear that they need to extend the front seat rail down the platform, but give people the option if it's available. Given the location of the turnstile op, it would be easy to chain off the front in the event that it's filled. Telling people they can't get in that queue isn't any different from telling people where they have to sit.

That would at least be an improvement. But my fears about this policy not changing (ever) remain - yes, the front and back queues are longer, but they are still relatively small, and the station is just not big enough. If it was, you could have huge queues for the preferred seats and not have to worry about half-empty trains. I am one of those people Dan mentioned, who can't come to CP every day (I live in Toronto) and would like to not have my ride experience left up to chance.

Both assigned seating and regular seat lines have its ups and downs. For a line for a particular seat, you cna pick any seat you want, but the platform can become very confusing esp. when you have an odd # of riders in your group.

I understand the same problem with assigned seating where say you have a group of 5. 3 of you get #'s 34-36, while the other 2 people in your group get #'s 1 and 2. You would get stuck with a limited choice of seats, while #'s 1 and 2 can get the front or back :( All in all, I think assigned seating works best for MF for its 1st year. Then twoards the end of the season, don't use assigned seating and see what happens

Do u think they will make the loading station larger over the off season. Because they just said the assigned seating will only last through the summer. So if they enlarge the loading area theyll be able to accomodate more guests for pick your own seating. But i havent been to the Point this year yet so i am not aware if there is any where they can expand the station.

I like it, however they should have seperate lines for 1-1 and the back.

my only beef with the assigned seating is what happened to me two days ago... unfortunately me and my friends had an odd number (seven) and i offered to ride alone on MF so me and my friends all picked near the back and i was pretty pumped cuz i sat near the front the first time and wanted to experience the back... suddenly a ride op comes up and makes me go near the front to sit with another single rider who i did not know, i was nowhere near my friends, and ironically i was in the exact same seat i sat in before.. and yes it ruined my night at cedar point cuz it was the last thing we went on... i understand they want to fill it up and they dont want a bunch of single riders, but i still think it is BS, and i agree that even though everyone wants the front or back, if their is a longer line for either, most people will say "screw it, let's sit anywhere" just cuz they have waited so long anyway... but i do applaud cedar point for running MF right away monday morning despite the fact that it was raining like mad (up until the lightening of course)... i think the seperate lines for front and back would be ideal... whatever... that is my two cents

I think that it works really well and that it moves the line really quickly. I have been on twice (yeah im still a rookie), but both times i rode, one on the 13th of may and one the other night, it seemed when they let peeps on the platform, everyone seems to walk to the seat and just get in. The other night, my girlfriend and I were about in the middle of a group that got on the platform, and the people in front of us, headed right for the back seat, and the people behind us sat about 2 rows up. I think what they are doing works really well. On a side note, the sign said 2 hour wait, we got on in exactly a hour. Something to go by, if the line is not past the vending machines in line and they are running 3 trains, then it is about a hour wait.

I can't believe how lucky I have been. I have been first or second in line every time I have ridden it except for two times. I think Rideman has the best idea, do it like Raptor.

Again, I just think its very bad planning that they have the seating like that. It does not help the line move any faster. The line would still be as short or as long if they let you choose you seat. I drove well over 500 miles to go to CP for Coastermania, then went back home. Then less than 48hrs later drove back to CP for 5 days and still never got a chance at the front. Oh well, Not like one persons gonna make a difference!

I have also been very lucky with seating. I travelled from New Jersey and rode MF 3 times on Sunday the 11th. The first time was around 1pm and the wait was less than 25 minutes (only the last section of the queue was filled). The second time was maybe around 5pm and the line was back to the soda machines - a 35 minute wait. Both times I had seats in the middle. On my third and final trip, at 9:30pm that night, the wait was about 50 minutes (still back to the soda machines but there was about a 10 minute period with no train activity). This time I got in the front. Slight drizzle, dark, seat 1-1. Can't beat it. My adrenaline started pumping from the moment I saw the line op latch the chain in front of me and didn't stop until I woke up the next morning. My opinion just from three rides is that riding in the front on MF really does make a difference. Even if it's not for the speed - there's just something about seeing the lift system engage your train and pull it out of the station on your way to the most thrilling drop in all of coasterdom.

I can relate to Sun the 11th. I was there too. It was pretty much a dead day in the park. Magnum was a walk-on most of the day. I was never really lucky with the seating though. I was ALWAYS right in the middle of the group each time (each of 5) so instead of sitting in the middle of the train, I usually went to the back. I'm probably going back to CP in August and I hope to get the front then and see just how cool it really is.
