VIP Ride Auction

You know, you would think for what these people are paying in this auction, that they would get to actually ride it first on media day or basket day. I know it's for charity and all,but you should get something for your donation,at least a basket day first ride.
The first ride on opening day, for auction winners is considered the first "official ride" of the year. At least that is what we were told during the last two years that they did the Red Cross rider auction. It's still worth it to me.

MF Circuts=316
Will the addition of TTD allow me to get more rides on MF this year?

IF anyone wants to know how old you have to be to bid? Well A person of any age can bid, but we must talk to a parent who has a working credit card number to verify your bid. Just thought I wold let you know on that.

------------------
Tickets for opening day 45 dollars
Buying a hotdog on the midway 3 dollars
buying a milli hat 20 dollars
Going opening day and ride
Top Thrill Dragster for the first time priceless

What if one wants to bid as a surprise for someone else? Can a person bid, pay for it, and let someone else ride?

Thats awful nice of you to do that for me OldCPer. hehehehe

Just kidding. Wish I could make it that day, but can't get off work here in Texas until later in the month. If I could, I'd be bidding for sure.

looks lke the highest bid is $400. Just another question what is the highest that you will bid for and how far do you think it will go.
I just checked the bid list, which obviously is now closed. The top two bids are $1504 and $1503. The grand total comes to $339,170. Congrats to all the successful donators. It's going to a very worthy cause.

EDIT: I just noticed on eBay, someone is auctioning VIP ride tickets for Sunday morning. Does anyone know what is going on with that? It sounds a little fishy to me. This person had these tickets yesterday.

This comes straight from the VIP auction page:

News Flash

There will only be 12 riders per train, instead of 16. There are still 96 seats available, but now with 8 trains instead of 6. This means there will be 16 front seats available, but bidders will have to be in the top 12 to be sure they are in the first train.

Does that mean they shortened the train length for the ride now? They've been testing that way so I just wanted to know if it was permanent.

Being talked about in a couple of threads. That news came a couple days ago.
Hey jdubya while I am SURE the Firelands Red Cross WISHES your math was correct, I think you OVER VALUED the Bid Totals:)...The Final Total is STILL OVER $32,000, quite impressive.

If you were SECOND in the bidding can you choose the FIRST seat of the SECOND TRAIN or are you "stuck" in train one?, (just curious)

I'm pretty sure you have your pick at whatever seat on whatever train is left when it's your turn to choose. As much money as some people are paying, they better let them pick their favorite train color!

Enjoy your ride on the big bad bug

Tim, are you ever right. I think I entered two bid amounts in one cell of the spreadsheet. Oops! The total is $34,777. Good thing I don't work for NASA.
