I hate to bring back an old thread, but I found this out today while filling out a survey.
Thank you for your patience with all of these wierd questions! Here's why we're asking. Viacom, the media conglomerate that owns (among other things) CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, Simon & Schuster, the Comedy Channel, Nick@Nite, etc will soon be splitting in half. One half will be called "Viacom" and the other half will be called "CBS."
When this split happens more than likely Canada's Wonderland and all of the other Paramount parks will be joining the CBS side of the business. The purpose of this survey was to give us some sense of what you, our guests, will think of the shift.and how much you like or care about CBS, our new owners.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Not to be rude, but I would like any owners better than Paramount. They took over Kings Island and in my opinion, ruined the best park in the midwest.I can only hope that new ownership might return it to its former glory,or even close.
Kings Island was originally an independent park, then some group was formed similar to Cedar Fair that was based at PKI after I believe Kings Dominion was bought. That group then began buying all of the parks that are currently a part of the chain. I can't remember the name of the group that formed, other than it had the word Kings as a part of the name.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I'm not totally sure, but I don't think there will be any "new" owners. Same company, just split up. KECO was one of the names of one of the earlier companies.

Yes, we've heard this from you over and over and over, and I still think you've made up your mind that you don't want to have a good time there.

Taft Broadcasting owned the park, (as well as Kings Dominion near Richmond, Virginia; Carowinds near Charlotte, North Carolina; and Canada's Wonderland near Toronto, Ontario) before they split the park away from their broadcast operations into a new company (KECO). Paramount Picture bought the KECO parks, along with the former Marriott's Great America near San Jose, California.
