There were quite a few people who tried cutting in line! It was ridiculous!
Yeah, I was also in that line, and the number of people trying to cut was truly ridiculous. Why they can't just wait in a line like everyone else I don't know (other than the fact of how long the line was and how late it was in the day when it started testing...). I'm sure if they were to use the queues that would prevent that, but then that would be a lot of free ride passes to hand out...Maybe they could try to do something where if they know they will be trying to open it soon (doing test runs), they could have an employee stand at the end of the current line (the one thats always really small like it was on the 5th until they started moving trains around) and then let all of those people in the front into the queue so they dont get screwed by someone cutting. People who wait 3, 5, 10, or even more hours outside the entrance don't deserve to get cut by someone who just jumped in line cause it started testing...That's my theory anyhow.

yeah donating $1,500 for a 17 second ride. How dumb! but i guess if you have that much money to waste like that it doesnt really matter anyways.
Walt was making fun of you. Wait until you grow up and understand the concept of money and philanthropy.

Honestly, I don't think it was.

It's measured just like the time value of money. To gauge your own (relative) cost of time, ask yourself the following question. Suppose I could promise you that if you did some certain task X *right now*, you would save yourself 10 days evenly spread over the course of the next year. The only catch is that you have to do X right now, and work at it until it was complete, with no other work or recreation in the meantime. The question, then, is what is the longest you'd be willing to drop everything to do X, saving 10 days over the coming year?
Obviously, any answer greater than or equal to "10 days" is irrational (in the economic sense). Likewise an answer of 0 is unlikely, because it implies that your time is infinitely valuable.
My graduate students usually answer "9 days or so", confirming that their time is relatively worthless.
Finally, some of us are in a position to put a direct monetary value on our time. I've recently accepted an engagement to do some legal consulting as an expert witness. Having this direct conversion between time and money causes one to think about leisure time differently. Given my hourly rate, I'd have to say that 11 hours is not "worth it" for me.
Irrationally (again, economically) I've waited two hours for it since accepting this engagement, despite a powerful financial argument against doing so. I guess I now must value my leisure time more highly than I ever have in the past, because each hour spent playing is an hour I can't bill my client. This is what drives economists crazy, and keeps social scientists employed. :)

"C'mon, get off the rails guys, listen to the guy with the Disaster Transport uniform on!"
I got in line on sunday as well, Testing went so well...But once we get in line. It breaks down, They say that it will be a "lengthy" delay. So we just decided to leave after about 40 minutes. So we didnt loose much time.
During that time it was down, They seem to have installed a Sled cooling system. On the beginning of the launch and on the end. But ofcourse, The god damn thing didnt work. When it acctually opened wednesday....It broke down because it overheated and kept rolling back. We were in the station. I was pissed that i didnt get a rollback. They started watering down the launch sled and we lost about an hour or so after they stopped running the trains and they kept rolling back. Then we got in line after that, It was pretty short. we were almost up at the station and the thing misfired. I believe the thing started to ghost. Because the onride kept flashing and the engine and voice that says arms down kept playing and resetting.
BTW, I dont know why people say that stapleing is really bad. I got stapled worse on MF. First ride we got whipped over the top, I wasnt expecting the amount of airtime i got. It was so early in the tophat. All in all, The ride was unbelievable. I feel bad for thsoe people that didnt get on.
I'll Post the full TR on trip reports.
