Very unlucky

Well I was visiting CP the 3,4,and 5th. TTD was down the 3 and 4th, and they were working on it on the 5th, so we jumped inline outside the ride lines. We were near the front of the line, because we got in line at 11 in the morning, and we waited 11 hours till 10 a.m. till they began to test run it, saw all of the ops make it over, they then announced it would not open, so was I not only angry because I waited all day, and the engineers said it would be open, but when I got home I checked the cams, and it is open. Talk about unlucky.

if they are test running it and you have already waited 11 hours, dont leave! they have said it would not open before and it has, and if they are testing it you stay!

Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!

I know, I thought of that but its didn't run anyway. And I had to leave today because I have golf tryouts and alot of other stuff.

Um, I wouldn't call waiting 11 hours to see if TTD would open unlucky, I call that stupidity. There is so much else you can do other than waste your life waiting for that ride. And with TTD's history, testing certainly does not mean they will open it.

Well I had done everything else, and the other rides did not have much appeal to me. My whole trip was based on rideing TTD.

To base your whole trip on TTD is pointless. And how could all the other rides/coasters not appeal to you??

People who can't have fun usually aren't much fun themselves. I still consider the Matterhorn, Troika and DT among my CP faves...

I never said they didn't appeal to me, I had already ridden evey coaster a good 4 times...All that was left was TTD, and the engineers told us that would be open for sure.

What month does Augest come after?
I've been planning my first trip up there this year...every morning I get up and go to the "in the park" cams to check the ride status...anyone got any recommendation as the best time to go...if not just for info on the dragster's condition but for the best days/time of year to go to avoid monster crowds? Two other things: what's with all the pestilence and also have to say I love the SNL Blue Oyster Cult/Christopher Walken/Cowbell reference. BTW this is my first post.
July... haha, nice one coastermike

Trips to CP thus far: 5
Maggie - 15; Raptor - 12; WT - 9; MF - 8; ID - 6; BS - 6; Mantis - 5; WE - 2 Gemini - 2; MS - 2; DT - 2; CCMR - 2; Corkscrew - 1; Wildcat - 1; TTD - 1; Jr. Gemini - 0
My group also got in line at 1030. With a group of 15 people wed have one sit for an hour and switch..etc...They were adding a whole new thing of air hoses that were never there before. It took them a good amount of time to add all of these hoses and pipes. Finally they attached everything. Testing appeared to go fine, even full loads of people went over. People were going nuts and everyone thought for sure it would open since full trains went over. But then they closed it at 10 for the night. Some people said the line went back to raptor.

I must have been sitting right next to your group. And those pipes were plumbing according to the guy who ran the lockers down by the entrance.

Yeah I was couple groups back from the group that was there at like 9, that were all loud and obnoxious, sorta funny though. I did most of the sitting for my group.

Ouchies. You sat eleven hours to see if TTD would open. At CP, there's just too much to do in those eleven hours. People sure do the dumbest stuff just to ride the world's tallest and fastest coaster. Those bidders paid over $1500 just to get their bragging rights on riding it first.

Yeah, donating $1,500 to a good cause. How dumb.

yeah donating $1,500 for a 17 second ride. How dumb! but i guess if you have that much money to waste like that it doesnt really matter anyways.
Check it, I must have been like sitting exactly right next to you. I was right behind those people playing monopoly since 9. I was right next to those kids who tried to cut inline once they started testing. I was with my friend who was wearing a bright yellow shirt, so you probably noticed us.

hey raptor1116 if you did not know that 1,500$ did go to a good cause. It went to the red cross.
Do you have a sunburn on only one side of your body? ;)
