Very Random Millennium Question

Yay I spelled Millennium right =)

Anyways..I'm kind of wondering for some reason why MF was placed in Frontier Town. It doesn't really look like it would be placed there, you know? Mainly because It's a steel. Maybe I'm the only one who really thinks this, but I just want to see what other people think.

Thanks =)

Think about how much space was available on that side of the park and how they were able to hide the ride pretty well behind the trees.

I don't think CP gets enough credit for how well the placed MF into the park.

The park generally does a great job at placing the rides in the park and not making it look like they went around and put them anywhere. Thought is put into how the park will look with the additions.

I think they did a good job meandering throughout the trees and the rest of the scenery. But maybe they could've added more 'frontier' type style to maybe the line. Just a thought.

That wouldn't be very "millennium" now, would it?

Isn't the end of the ride where Giant Wheel used to be? Did that have a Frontier Trail theme, or did it look the way it does now? And does the Frontier Trail begin just over the train tracks, or does is start at the area where all those shops and the Red Garter Saloon are located?

MF is not in Frontier Town, it starts at the beginning of the Frontier Trail, but it does cross through the Frontier Trail and that is why they put the tunnels there with rocks around them.

I'd say they did a hell of a job with that considering size, noise, and location.

And i wouldn't technically give the beginning of the line Frontier Trail status. To me, its more modern/rest of the park and the station sits just outside of it. Maybe its just the lack of trees/woodsy feel.

I agree with fluffy. It's not even at the beginning of the trail.

To me, the trail begins with the blacktop, which starts outside of Red Garter/Antique photo.

Take a look at this map;

I think they placed MF in a great place and had to move one attraction and maybe fill in some of the lagoon for it. If you look at the map, it would be interesting (and we have great ideas) as to where else MF could sit. To me, that seems like a logical place for it to be.

Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast

But it still runs through it and I think it is. When you exit, you ARE IN frontier town. There's no denying that.

The exit to the ride is NOT in Frontiertown. You could argue that it is on the Frontier Trail, but that's about it.

Regardless, if Panda Express can be on the Trail, then so can MF.

Ever since MF opened, I've considered the other side of the tunnel the start of the Trail, especially since the only thing on the MF side of the tunnel is Red Garter that could be considered to belong on the Trail. There's almost a kind of immediate change in atmosphere for me when I go through the tunnel, as I can't usually see anything other than MF and TTD from the other side of the tunnel (when I say "other side" I mean the Trail side).

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

I think we might be thinking a little deep into this, I know it is November and there isn't much else to discuss, but I'm just saying. :)

I agree Blue Streak, to me the FT is area they use for the Fright Zone, plain and simple.

Speaking of Rides that dont fit the scenery, I love how they put Maverick in Frontier Town... A state of the art steel coaster that is supposed to represent the old west. Dont get me wrong, Maverick is my favorite coaster of all time, but as far as theming goes, the coaster itself isnt very "old west".

R.I.P. MrScott... You're greatly missed!!

What do you mean?! they have the train car, the names of the trains sound like old western 'vermin', and the supports are a nice sandy color.

And how could you not LOVE the old western, trading post style station? Madness I say! Madness!!

And the water bobms and the canyons. Also dont forget the theme music in line!

Is it May yet?

I always thought Maverick fit the theme quite well.

You mean the water bombs that didnt work when I was there? Like the fog or mist or whatever in the tunnel that didnt work when I was there?

Oh...venting.

I dont know. I have 100% given up on CP's ideas of theming. The trains are only vaguely...vaguely stylized as "trains", and while the canyons added a nice touch, all I saw was a bunch of dirt below me.

What exactly is it supposed to be? You name the ride Maverick, have a horse as a symbol, but then the ride is a "crazy train"?

At least it doesnt say "Welcome to Alaska" when you get off.
