My very first tript to CP blew me away. We stayed 3 nights, and 3 days at the park. Service was decent and CP definatley runs there park better than SFGAm,(are all Cedar Fair parks like this)?
DAY 1
Got there at 5 after a very what seemed like a long roadtrip. First ride was Millie, it was amazing, the first drop is insane and it stays rather consistant. Next it was on to TTD, I wasn't expecting that launch. This ride definatley gives you the best view though. I forgot what we hit after that but I do remember riding Raptor once, Magnum, MaxAir, and Skyhawk. Left at 11.
DAY 2
This was the day that I rode Power Tower, Maverick (new favorite), Gemini, Wicked Twister, Corkscrew, Iron Dragon, Mantis. Rode Millie and TTD once more this day. All of the new coasters of day 2 were decent besides Maverick which exceeded expectations.
DAY 3
Not much happening this day, had a minny Skyhawk marathon, getting on five stright rides. Rode Maverick and Gemini twice more, another on Millie Wicked Twister, Raptor, Power Tower, and of course Skyhawk and MaxAir, also the first time on Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Blue Streak. At the end of the day I caught the show and the light up forest which were awsome. One thing that was noteworthy was that as we were leaving we notice MaxAir runing at around 10:45 so we get in line because it looks open, so the guy lets us on then 10 seconds later we are told that it is an employee ride night so that was kind of embarrissing.

You forgot one--Mean Streak! Lol!! If you did ride it, how does it compare to (still one of my fave woodies) the Eagle?
--I just had to put that in there because I know how MS is and what everyone thinks of it. That poor coaster...it's like the red-headed stepchild of the park.
fast...Faster...FASTEST!
^^ Magnum is 21 years old. It is going to be a bit bumpy.

^No Mean streak, I heard alot of negative feed back so I skiped out.
^^I knew it would be a little bumpy but I gues those last hills just surprised me a little bit.
Where you sit on the Magnum greatly affects the quality of your ride. Many people overlook the Magnum with the anticipation and adrenaline rush from riding Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, and Maverick. The first question most people ask after hearing you went to Cedar Point is, "Did you ride the Dragster?!". Nobody seems to ever ask or care about whether you rode the Magnum since many people get rough rides from picking the wrong seats and then assume every seat is like the one that they unknowingly chose. Magnum is sort of Cedar Point's forgotten gem among the general public, and it often does not get enough credit for the incredible rides that it is capable of providing.

I will say that Magnum seemed rougher this year than I remember. I had to be very careful what seats I sat in. I typically can handle a few rides in the ejector seat, but I rode there once and had a headache by the time the train came back to the station. Maybe I'm just getting old...

I don't understand why Magnum seems to be loved so much by many people in these forums. I think there is a reason it is overlooked by the general public - it is just a middle of the road coaster. It is remarkably inconsistent for a steel coaster, even when you consistently sit in the same area (I usually am in the 2nd or 3rd row). I suppose this could be considered a positive - you never know what you're gonna get. Your ride can vary from kinda rough and not that enjoyable to that was totally awesome. I've gotten more of the first then the latter. Most of the time my impression is that was fun, but nothing special compared to the other rides.
Mean Streak is definitely appropriately named and deserves it's bad repuatation. But I wouldn't recommend skipping it entirely. Especially since you can usually get on it in less then 15 minutes.

1st time I rode Magnum it was rough, that was in row 3. The next time was row 7, not as rough, but alright, and the 3rd and final time I got stapled which made for a very unpleseant experience, but it isn't a bad ride. I did enjoy it for the most part.
Okay, dumb question of the day. I keep seeing "ejector seat" come up in posts. Which seat is the ejector seat? Just curious. I have noticed that Magnum seems a bit rough this season as well. I still enjoy riding it, and wonder if maybe the wheels are just worn enough that it may be time to put some new ones on. Not sure how often this is done.
I'm beginning to think I'm the only fool who enjoys Mean Streak. Maybe I'm just an old fashioned wood coaster guy, dunno. I will say that, at 41, I only ride once a day though :)
Car 1 row 3. It's a very fun ride with crazy airtime, but a ride in the ejector can end up being pretty painful, if you hit the lapbar just right. But try it, I ride a lot in the seat, and plus if you can handle Mean Streak you can handle Magnum :)

Magnum is the 2nd most popular ride in the park. I wouldn't say it is a hidden gem at all.

When I called Magnum a "forgotten gem," I meant it as that many people who do ride it, which amounts to loads of people, don't often get the best experience possible and then write it off as a top ride. I agree with what CPboy77 said about first timers not always liking Magnum. I'd guess it's because they're not expecting the airtime to be so extreme over the bunny hops. :)

I wish I could go marathon SkyHawk but everytime I go there's always an unsual 30-40 minute wait.
It's interesting that for just about every SFGAm coaster, there's a similar CP one that completely tops it. Although I'm surprised you thought V2 was better than WT... even though WT is taller, faster, and has a twisted back spike? Personally, I was disappointed in V2 after having experienced WT. Meh. I guess personal opinoin trumps all.
Glad to see you enjoyed it. Hopefully I'll get out there myself soon (unfortunately, it's probably going to be next summer, not this one.)
^ Yeah I didn't really like the twist on the back of WT, I don't know, I guess I like V2's sheer drop on the back spike better. I also thought that WT rattled much more.
