Vekoma

Consitering Stealth already got torn down, I think that X-flight's days are numbered. Either that, or it'll test the maintenacne's christianity when they get the job of fixing it. Might want to keep kids away from that ride when it's down.

Rides are guarenteed to break down eventually, the control system on those ....... things are in the perfect configuration to fail. I don't think even CP's level of maintenance will help make the ride reliable.

Eddy the retard is awesome.

My tidbit of input-----Just change the restaints to something a little smaller on ST and I'll probably like the ride--those THINGS they have around your neck now are claustraphobic. Even worse on a hot day when they are full of sweat ----ewwwww.

Stealth was relocated to Carowinds, not torn down.

Even worse on a hot day when they are full of sweat ----ewwwww.

I agree. The restraints are supposed to be padded so it doesn't hurt your head, but they do just the opposite. And they get all gross from the sweat and grease in people's dirty ears...

Not fun to ride.

Where would we be without CP?:)

"Failure is not an option. It's mandatory."

Once you understand that, you can figure out how to manage failure, and keep the rides operating during the business day.

96% uptime park-wide is nothing to sneeze at!

Cedar Point doesnt even have a ride closed sign
yes they do we seen it alot last year at the ride and at the main entrance..... i am sure you remember seeing it
MF310 and Ginger, I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought they were going to fall out of x-flight. Is this a common problem?

I think most people feel like they are going to fall out, but they pretend to tough it out so they seem brave.

On Batwing, I've felt the G's pushing me "forward" into the harness, but it never felt like the harness would give. Is that what you mean by "feel like you'll fall out"?
There are numerous workers at SFWoA that have snagged a 'just lapbar' ride on XF. I was never brave enough, or lucky enough to get one. I think that would be pretty darn scary.
No, both times I rode X-flight, my legs were falling out of the harnesses. I dont know if it is possible, but if i weren't making a conscious effort to keep them in the restraints I'm pretty sure they would have come loose. It's a really frightening feeling thinking you're going to fall out of the harness.

I only rode XFlight once in 2000 when it opened and my sholders were brused and sore for a week afterwords. I probobly will never ride it again, I really didn't enjoy the ride anyway. I glad other people enjoy it because then I can get on Batman Knight flight more often.
Coasterzak: I think "stupid" is the adjective you are looking for, rather than "brave" or "lucky".

Vanessa: I haven't ever had that sensation on Batwing.

Regarding the nonsense about CF not having a custom Vekoma, very few parks period have a custom Vekoma. The percentage of total Vekoma installs that are unique has to be pretty low.

That said, I'm not sure that hang-n-bangs have to be inherently rough. It could have a lot to do with their maintenance. Seeing as how Six Flags owns the vast majority of them, you can see where I'm going with that. A few people have said the SLC at Morey's Piers isn't bad at all.

Remember... this is the park where the three-year old Batman, a freakin' B&M, was rough.

When Serial Thriller was new it was almost as smooth as Raptor, just the transitions were sharper. I agree that Six Flags maintenance has a lot to do with rough SLCs. It may be a smoother ride later in 2004, after CF had some time to work with it, for sure 2005 will see an improvement to Serial Thriller.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I'm sure that Cedar Fair can get ST to run smoother.

The SLC at Canadas Wonderland I've found to be quite a bit smoother then any other SLC I've been on. I actually enjoy it, unlike the rest of them.

The SLC at geauga lake is alot smother than the one at six flags darien lake

Yes! that's exactly how I'd describe my experience on X-Flight. I hated it after I rode it. Never again!!!

Ginger, I don't feel so crazy now. My boyfriend at the time didn't feel that way but he is 6'4 and very thin. I'm 5'1 and on the chunky side. Perhaps that has something to do with it.
