Updates for 2002 Improvements

Hey, I just got back from the point to do some training and all, and here is whats happening now...

Mantis retained its ugly faded colors, not sure why it hasn't been painted.

Blue Streak is done, it really stands out now.

The old location of Dodgems seems to have and interesting wall around it..we'll have to see.

The parking lot has been paved in most places...after they dug for the line for WT...

The midway by WT looks great! The spiral is finished and looks to be done now...the ride itself is VERY BIG in comparison to the webcam images...

All for now..

I have heard about a flat ride that is being built behind the "wall" and will be open for 2003. We'll see....

Well it's not behind the wall right now.. so....

Once you drop, the fun don't stop!

I don't know about a flat ride taking a whole year to build.... Come on they put up flat rights in 24 hours for a fair..... The basement Red Garter Mentioned sounds a little more realistic....

Hmmmmm? I was over there yesterday and went by that area and it looks more like they are putting a reasturaunt in but I am not too sure they did however move the rock climbing wall across the midway.

Yeah, but we are talking about a permanent ride here. Not just some fair fold-up.

But still, it shouldn't take TOO long.

RIDE IT OUT!

I know it's a permanent ride. They take a little longer to install. I would say it takes about 2 weeks to install a permanent ride.

It's a really, really, really, really, really, really long shot here, but a footer for a new Intamin launched ride, similar to Xcelerator @ KBF?

Silly imagination running away again... :)

Millennium, I heard that very thing from another source totally unrelated to this site! Hummmmmmmm
How much you wanna bet thats not it?

I don't know about anybody else, but since I went to PKI a few weeks ago, I've been thinking that a Giant Topspin would be a nice "flat" addition to the park. Its fairly "compact", compared to a coaster, plus at 77 peeps per ride, thats a very nice capacity that CP is always boasting.

Just a thought.

Topscan! Topscan! Topscan!

Anyone who has been to PCW and ridden Shockwave can tell you how amazing these things are...and I'm not even a flat ride person!

I actually think that might be a god spot for a Top Spin. Minus the fact Camp Snoopy is just around the corner.

Excuse me, but didn't someone say earlier that's where a new restaurant is to be built??

I noticed in the 2002 Getaway Guide, that it was now called "Joe Cool's Corner Store". It looked like it was marked where the old Dodgem was. I may be mistaken though.

Joe Cool's Corner Store is the old Gemini Gifts shop, across the way from the plot of ground in question.

Joe Cool's has been there for years, that's not new.
Could it just be that they are building a restuarant and put a wall up to prevent injury from visitors. Let's not get crazy with a new ride for this summer, though that would be nice.
