Out of all the new things for this season, what interested me the most was actually the stadium not being used. For an entire season, we'll have a big empty stadium...I would be very surprised if that wasn't CP's next target area for season '08. Not that I want to spur that kind of topic, it's just my two cents.
Starbucks will now officially be the one and only reason for my wife to go to Cedar Point. If she could have an iv running with Starbucks coffee, she would. :) Thats if she's back home in time, Coast Guard training is always a lottery.

If they decide to tear the stadium down and put something else there, I wouldn't expect anything new until 2009. Unless they start tearing it down now.

^^^That's IF the ploom isn't already looming over the track by the time a train gets to that area.If you're that worried about it, do us all a favor and stay home. We could all use a little less air pollution.
Wow, thanks for that attack. I wasnt aware I deserved to be bashed for that.....considering it didnt have anything to do with you or smokers.
Oh and fyi, I dont smoke.

Your comment has everything to do with smokers - you're whining that the designated areas might be inconvenient to you.
Never mind the fact that you no longer have to "deal" with smokers in 95% of the park - just go ahead and complain about the remaining 5%.
And, FYI, I don't smoke either.
Brandon
You think the park would be able to censor the on-ride videos?

Yes. I don't know that they will be displayed in the same way that the on-ride photos are displayed now. And it wouldn't take much to review any video before sale to make sure that there is nothing indecent in the video.
Goodbye MrScott
John
Yeh, we'll probably censor them. It's more because the person doing the indecent act is ruining some one elses video/picture and we don't want the act to infringe on the family park image.

Dont start putting words in my mouth or change around my opinions to something that's completely different from what I meant. (like you did a couple times in the Dragster topic)
So before you start, understand this, because you've pissed me off (which you seem to do allot).
I AM NOT WHINING! I'm simply pointing out that if there's a large amount of smokers, the chances of the wind carrying the ploom over Mavericks track is pretty much guaranteed.
I've never had a problem about smokers in the park, and even if they didnt put in the smoking sections, I could care less. So stop attacking me with "You're pissing and moaning about the smoking areas" because I'm not.
Am I upset that there's a smoking section right next to Mavericks turn? Yes
Do I give a damn? No not really.

Goodbye MrScott

Has a simple statatement made by Adam been blown out of proportion? Yes.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I smoke and this whole smoking thing is starting to get on my nerves.
I have heard more things from the non-smoking community (Adam I got what you were saying I am not refering to you) about the smoking areas than from the smokers.
I thought that this was a free country and I could do as I please but apparently I was misinformed. I realize that CP is private property but it is an open air enviroment. I have heard more flack about the "clouded plumes comming from the smoker spots" than I care to hear about.
The fact is that the people that were so worried about smokers and second hand smoke got something in their favor and are still bitching about it and it is really starting to piss me off.
I am willing to make this comprimise so everyone can enjoy the park but it is quite annoying when the other side gets what they want and complains about it.
Beeeeehhhhhhh!!!!!
^^America is becoming a smoke free place man. (I hate the smell of smoke). The only restaurants in my town that you can smoke in are ones that are ALL Smoking. They don't ask "Smoking or non" anymore. It has to be inclosed in a separate room.
"Water will be involved." MrScott 2006
There are plenty of things that aren't "free" about the US. Just because smoking has historically been permitted inside buildings, in theme park lines, and in theme parks in general doesn't mean it needs to continue that way. Who knows, maybe in 10 years, they won't even have the smoking sections.
Lots of things in life aren't fair. You just need to deal with it. I usually use Disney as a similarity just because I go there more frequently than Cedar Point. But, I know where their smoking sections are and avoid them. There really are plumes of smoke - just like entering an office building or bar. But, it's easier for me to avoid a couple areas of the park than hundred of people scattered about the park smoking. So, I'm perfectly fine with the smoking sections.
Wanna know something bizarre? My freshman year in high school (1980), the school still had smoking pits . . . for the students. In fact, that year, they tightened the rules and made the smoking pits for seniors only.
Not really trying to make any kind of deep observation with that. Just something jogged my memory.
