I dont know much, but I do have over a dozen friends working at the point this summer... word on the point is that this ride might be finished much sooner than most of you expect... this may or may not be true so take it as you want...
I was at the point on the 28th (wednesday). The pond looked like it was at normal level. But there was a hose coming out of it and stretching all the way across the construction site to a drain near the wooden fence by MS. It appeared that they were draining it, but as mentioned the water height looked normal. I know this sounds pretty pansy considering I fish and I eat the fish that I catch, but I hope that they do not kill all the wildlife in that pond everytime they drain it, cause there is a lot of fish in there.
2008 visits = 38, 2009 = 19, 2010 = 11, 2011 = 14, 2012 = 10, 2013 = 14, 2014 = 14, 2015= 13, 2016 = 11, 2017 = 5, 2018 = 3
I noticed the pond as well, but from the pictures I took on Monday (June 26) to Thursday (June 29) there was no difference in the water. As well I didn't see the pumps actually running the hose was up on the bank of the pond. Did they start pumping on Friday? Just curious....
^^I'm an avid fishermen/hunter, and I care about nature as much as the next person, but what's the loss of a few Bluegills going to do? There's soooo many at the point (including carp) that competition for food must be so great that a few losses wouldnt hurt. I mean I don’t know if predators such as cranes or Hawks or Muskrats (if CP has those) can keep them in check.
Oh well....it's like Ian Malcolm says "Life finds a way." :)
Though I, as well, hope that the fish are relocated somewhere like into Sandusky Bay.
ANYWAY, when I was at the park Wednesday I noticed that the pond was indeed low.....though not by much.

The water level in the pond is down slightly from what it was about 2 weeks ago. The pump is still there, and the hose is in the water, but as of Saturday, the rest of the water is still in the pond.

So either we haven't received any flat track or its going to be launched.
It will be launched.
Vince982,
Throwing things at people is not kind. I "kind" of think water will be involved with this ride.
Anything you DO throw at me won't make it to Michigan, as you are in Canada (from what your profile says).
Water will be involved with this ride. Mark my American/Michigan words.
