I really doubt they're going to say"Nope you can't stay here because you aren't supposed to be here untiltomorrow and we just don't feel like doing anything right now"lladnar, no one here said that.
I know that. I was just saying that because that would be what would happen if someone showed up early and wanted to process in and they weren't allowed to. It would be a pretty dick move to just kick someone to the curb and not let them stay in housing that night when just a day later they'll be back.

Are hotels in Sandusky really that expensive? I was telling my parents that I needed to be there at 8:30 am on Sunday and my dad's response was to go out there Saturday and just get a hotel. (I'm about 2 hours away). Not sure if we're going to do that, but I was just curious as I keep reading people say "hotels aren't cheap".
The average price range at the moment if $40-$70 a night. Which of course depends on what your looking for. These price ranges are for the comfort inn, knights inn, econo lodge.. A lot of the hotels aren't open yet either or are getting ready too.

I ended up calling HR and getting everything figured out. They did say that you are only suppose to check into housing the day you process in. They said that I needed to talk to my supervisor to get it worked out. So they forwarded me to her and I spoke with her about my situation and she talked to HR and get it worked out that I could process in on the 8th instead of the 9th. But said that she only did that because I was in a tight situation and have no where else to go.
I stopped working on April 14th since I was working for a tax service and have just been getting everything ready for this summer ever since. I don't know where I would have come up with the money for a hotel if I wasn't able to process in early. I am so lucky to have such an understanding supervisor. I can tell already that this is going to be a great place to work.
I want to make it clear that I don't think that I am any more special then anyone else that works for CP. I just had a situation that was out of my hands. I was under the understanding that I was allowed to check into housing up to 24 hours prior to processing in, instead of 24 hours before working. I learned differently after reading this topic, so I decided to talk to my supervisor and see if she would be able to help me out with my situation or not.

Concerning hotels, there's a hotel on Cleveland Rd, just 5 minutes from CP, and I think it's called the Plantation Hotel. Now I don't know if it's open yet or not, but I heard it was very reasonable. As for any national chain, they will be charging very high rates. I live just 15 minutes from CP, in a town called Castalia, and I know the rates generally start at $80 a night. Good luck to all who will be processing in on the 4th. I've been processed in since March 24th.

Right at this very moment in time I am at the Econo Lodge about to go to bed to be up to get to HR first thing in the morning. Its at 1904 Cleveland Road (AKA State Route 6) right at the intersection of Cedar Point Drive (Where the CP entrance sign is with Snoopy). It cost 50 bucks after Tax and I have to say, its pretty nice. I was expecting alot less but it came with 2 beds, cable, its clean, nothing crawling around the place. Other then some petty minor things, it was well worth it cause the hotel right across the street is double the price. Oh and you gotta have free WIFI, DUH!.
