I've always considered Twitter kind of pointless, but after more thought, I wonder if there's some use here in our world.
So, I'm signed up. http://twitter.com//waltschmidt
Twitter may be a good way to send quick updates while in the park working or playing. This is all new, so we'll have to see how it goes.
Sellout. :)

I was never too keen on the idea of using Twitter, considering I update my 'status' on Facebook. When it becomes a chore to go to various sites to update what I'm doing, things are getting out of hand. However, I've since started using Twitter and enjoy it so far. It's nice to be able to 'follow' peoples' updates without having to be a full-fledged friend, like on Facebook.
As for the whole updating multiple sites thing, I took care of that with a Facebook application called TwitterSync. So now, I can update Twitter from wherever (phone, web, etc.), and the second it hits Twitter, my Facebook status also gets automatically updated.

I just don't get all that stuff. I understand how it works, what I mean is I don't understand WHY people do it. Like I want to read, "I just arrived at work, the traffic was terrible." Or, "Just dropped my kids off at the sitter." Sometimes there is too much available on the Internet.
I consider myself tech savvy but, like I said, I don't get Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, etc.
Like I said, I always thought it was pointless. Jeff and I have had conversations where I make fun of the Valley guys who use it. But I think it's worth this experiment to see if useful in our little niche. You won't be seeing, "I just got a glass of water" messages from me, but perhaps, "in line for Gemini, park is packed" messages have some use.
The thing is, I've been able to do something like this for years with text messages, only I narrow the focus to the people I actually need to send a message to. Even as someone who has been blogging for years, I don't see why people want to push out crap to potentially thousands of people, or why others are willing to consume it. It's attention whoring at its worst.

I'd also like to point out that I'll only tweet stuff about the park. And I think it'd be cool if there were others who would do the same - only twittering about stuff happening in the park.
I'm gonna try this just because I can't get online when Im at work- but I can always text!
I'm going to the park tommorow. Here is my twitter: http://twitter.com/Clapper_120
Ill post weather, wait times, What the rides are like, whats broken down, and general things about the park. Its gonna be fun!
