Twilight Ticket Crowds

Do many people take advantage of the Starlight Ticket discount? I only ask because we're going to the point for 3 days, and since we won't arrive until afternoon on the first day anyway, we decided to take advantage of the discounted ticket. We're going on a Tuesday in May, so we're not expecting huge crowds anyway, but if a lot of people enter the park at 4:00 we thought it might be better to start in the back of the park (to avoid the wave of people up front).

Basically we're just trying to plan our first few precious hours at CP. (It's my first trip, btw). I know at my home park, WoF, a lot of people use the twilight ticket on weekends, which is also why I ask.

Edit: It's starlight at CP, I was used to the "twilight" moniker at WoF.

The park will be dead, in fact on those days the park will likely start emptying out around that time (due to school busses leaving.) However, with the little time you do have you should be focusing on what rides you want to ride, make a list of top ten and go from there. Also another hint, at CP closing time means the lines close then, not the rides, so if you line up 1 minute before closing and the line is full, you still get to ride, so plan on Maverick, Raptor, MF, or TTD being your last ride.

well if you are going for three days i recommend getting the season pass because after two and a half trips it pays for itself.

^Tempting, but we're staying at Lighthouse point so with the discount the starlight and two-day ticket are still $20 cheaper than the season pass, and we live 12 hours from Sandusky so barring a miracle this will be our only trip this year.

yeah, we went with season passes since we will be there 5 days. even though it will be our only trip for the year, we are just too far away ( 23 hours). last year we used the starlight and day pass tickets included in the package deal. just was not long enough for our liking.

Have a awsome time!

Based on previous experience, on Tuesdays in May the only crowds at CP are at the front of the park and they are all leaving around 3-4. After that the park was basically empty except for college kids who are done with classes.

^I love the sound of that ;).

When i went for the first time vaca in 03. I used my starlight ticket and got on the front car of every coaster in 4 hours. That was an achievement. It was also late august.

Firemen never die, they just burn forever in the hearts of the people whose lives they saved

Tuesday through Thursday in May is the real deal, especially if you use twilight tickets. It used to be even more so with the buy-one-get-one from the Getaway Guide (which I still haven't gotten yet, btw). There's almost no one in the park, you can knock out the big rides and just cruise through your following day, riding everything else and enjoying the shows. It's compounded if the weather's chilly or misty, as long as the rides are still running inclement weather will keep crowds away. Pack a hoodie and ride on!

Have a great trip.

Actually adidas it turns out I owe you one. I looked into the season passes and realized I could use the platinum pass to get into Worlds of Fun (3 hours away and my "home" park) and ValleyFair (5 hours away and I've never been, Renegade looks sweet). It's definitely worth it so I bought one. This should be a fun Summer ;). Btw, the Season Pass at WoF gets my friends in for $15 dollars less, even better!

Thanks guys.

KD is something like $25 off. I'm gonna be in/around DC this summer and will make a trip out there, so the discount + parking + my admission half pays for the pass. Which is, not to mention, that I've already gone to CP two days and will go another couple days if not more later this summer. :)
