Ok, now I am very excited to ride Maverick, but there is something that I am worried about. On Maverick will we stop in the tunnel for a while? The reason I ask this is because I am clasterphobic and would not like it if we were just sitting in there waiting to launch. Other than this I am VERY excited to ride Maverick.
This is something that I've wondered about myself. I think the deciding factor may be timing of the trains. If they want to have all the flybys, there may be a pause in the tunnel. Especially if one of the loading trains takes a little while longer. Although Raptor and Magnum are able to almost always hit interval.
I was under the impression that the pause to time the flybys would be right before the lift. There may however be a pause in the tunell (I didn't see any sort of kicker wheels though so and they are usually pretty accurate in these). I always thought that I heard something like "arms down" in the onride video, but still it launches no faster than Wicked Twister and they don't do anything like that.
Thrills Around the Corner!
Because of the six train operation Maverick is susposed to do, I understand as a waiting block will be between the load station and the lift hill. This will be used as a way to time the trains out. When a train hits the brakes for the launch, a loaded train will always be ready.

^^There are kicker/drive wheels before the launch.
You can see them in this pic. http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=5991 (the open spaces)
Plus, just as a side note, it appears that the kicker/drive wheels for the station have been installed.

Now that you mention that, I wonder as well. I believe they say that you roll in at 5mph, but does the train stop to wait for the LSMs to charge?
I think there's atleast a pretty good chance you will be, or could be, stopping there based on what the block configuration appears to be and the number of trains.

Also do you think they'll do the arms down thing like on Dragster?
How would they see you in the tunnel anyways so my guess is no.

Ummm..... Yeah it does. WT's first launch is approx. 50 mph (according to cedarpoint.com), and Maverick's launch is approx. 70 mph (also according to cedarpoint.com). The problem isn't with the speed of the launch, it's the G's. The reason they do the "arms down" thing on TTD is because the launch is 4 G's which WT doesn't come close to.
Speaking of the tunnel... the framing for it is starting to go up:

I liked todays update, cool to see all the mechanical stuff being set up. Cant wait for those trains!:)

I love the mechanical pics. Its so cool seeing all the pieces/parts come together.
I hope they put a catwalk next to those retractable brake fins at the end of the ride. Ya know, so when they get stuck in the up position. :) Adam knows what I'm talkin about. ha ha!!
It's a great great tunnel.

I wonder if the curve at the end of the tunnel is there to help prevent excess light inside the tunnel. And if that is the case, I'm very curious to see how dark it will actually be in the tunnel.

I was there on the last day of the season and two of the trains were already there sitting by P&D covered by a blue tarp but you could see the wheels through an opening. Not to mention the shape of the blue tarp...
I could have sworn that was all wood....

I'm glad to see the update. It's cool that Maverick construction is still moving along just as fast as it was back when season was in operation. As long as it doesn't snow too hard we should be fine. What I mean is if it snows up to 2 feet or more, it would become a problem. By the way this question is for the admins on here. Is it possible we'll see another update from Pointbuzz? Just curious.
The trains are not there, unless T&T are lying to us on the blog.
I'm curious to see how dark the tunnel is too. I'm sure the bend in the tunnel is for light. It also looks like they're going to make the opening at the end just big enough for the train and raised arms. (If the animation is accurate!)
I'm curious to see how the lift support penetrations in the tunnel are going to be detailed. That's a prime area for light infiltration. I'm hoping they use some sort of rubber gasket around the column and tunnel enclosure to block out the light. If that tunnel is pitch black, its going to own big time!!
