Just got back from a trip at the park.. Arrived a touch after 9am and headed straight over to Season Passes so I could get my MAXX Pass, Joe Cool and Parking Pass. No lines at all there, so that took about 10 minutes. Got into the park, and managed three rides on Millennium Force by 10am, all in the first car. Then headed over to Maverick to take a look at it, where I also intended to ride Mean Streak but wasn't aware that it doesn't open until 11am (d'oh!)
Then I hiked over to Magnum, which had only a short wait. Just as I was waiting to ride in the front seat (literally the next train) they shut the ride down for a mechanical. Something was wrong with one of the seat belts and/or lap bars on one of the trains. I waited and after about 30 minutes they opened the ride back up and I rode it twice. After that I walked back over to Mean Streak, only to find that a train was stuck at the bottom of the lift hill fully loaded. They were running trains on Maverick, so I got a bite to eat at the Chick-Fil-A (right next to Maverick) and ate outside while watching Maverick's trains go through the course. Maverick looks like fun, can't wait until it opens. And the heartline roll doesn't really look that bad--certainly doesn't seem much worse than the rolls on Mantis or Raptor.
While I was eating they started running empty trains on Mean Streak, but had the queue closed. I waited for about 30 minutes, then someone came out and announced that had no idea when Mean Streak would be open again, so everyone milling about waiting for the ride to open (including me) left. I took the train back down over to Millennium and rode Mantis, waiting for the front (probably about 30 minutes). After that I decided to go on Iron Dragon since it's basically a walk-on. As I'm close to getting on (again, waiting for the front car), a train gets stuck on the lift and they close the ride. Not sure if the people on it had to walk down, I didn't stick around to wait, but an employee did walk up the stairs to the train.
Walked over to Wicked Twister and rode that, pretty much no wait. After that I headed over to Raptor, which had about a 30 minute wait, and got the one of the front seats. Someone waiting for the second row asked if I would swap with them. Uhh, no!! The cameras in the front are well above your head and you don't notice them unless you look up. The pictures I've seen are a bit deceiving as far as this goes. The ride video looks pretty cool, but I've already seen the warnings about the DVD so I'll stay away from those unless they improve them.
And finally, I rode Blue Streak twice. Again, no wait at all, even for the front. That's a deceptively fun little coaster, and at least I got to ride one wooden coaster since Mean Streak wasn't being cooperative today.
Top Thrill wasn't running very often in the morning (it was quite windy early in the day), but looked to be running fine when I left. I was hoping to ride it today, but had to get back so I can get some work done tonight. :) Oh, I watched maXair periodically and it was definitely going above horizontal every time I spied it..
Beautiful day and actually a bit hot by the time I left at about 3:30pm. But I moved up here recently from Texas, so it has to get considerably hotter than ~85 to affect me too much.
I had a blast at the park, being my first visit this season. The longest I waited for anything was 30 minutes, and most queues were shorter than that. Was disappointing that three coasters I tried to ride had problems--hopefully they get the kinks worked out soon. Oh, and there were TONS of physics students at the park today. Funny watching them get on Magnum with various and sundry measurement devices strapped to their wrists.

I personally like Mean Streak. :)
Oh, I forgot to mention, both swings on Skyhawk were running. Hopefully that remains the case throughout the season!

I was there today, too, and what a great day we had! I have rosy red cheeks and swollen feet, but we had a fantastic time anyway! My hubby and I took our kids, ages 7,4, and 3, as well as our two neighbors, ages 7 and 12. My 7-year-old got to ride Millenium Force for the first time ever and LOVED it! He got right off and got back in line for a second ride. My 12-year-old neighbor usually hates rollercoasters, but we talked him into MF and he actually enjoyed himself. Hubby tried to ride TTD (I've ridden several times before and wanted to sit this one out), but it was either broken down or too long of a wait every time he went to get in line. It seemed to be the only long line of the day. Walked right onto Wicked Twister, no wait whatsoever. Magnum had 5-minute wait, tops. Raptor was 1/2 hour, but it went quickly in the shade. Besides, Raptor is ALWAYS worth the wait! Not a big fan of Mantis or Mean Streak, so we steered clear of those two. Rode SkyHawk for first time ever and REALLY liked it! Iron Dragon was down when we went to ride it, also. It wasn't crowded today, but I thought Physics Day was Thursday and there were a TON of high school physics classes there today! Where did the teenyboppers come from? They were fairly harmless, but you always get the ones that are a little touchy feely in line that drive me nuts! Overall, a fantastic day although I would be happier with the temp. about 10 degrees cooler. The sign said it hit 93 degrees today! Definitely could've been a water ride kind of day!
