Tuesday 5/13-- From windy to perfect

I planned to make my 2nd trip of the year on Monday, but opted not to because of the weather, and I was doubtful about going yesterday until I called the park and they told me the conditions were much better than the last 2 days. I went with my sister, who hadn't been to the Po!nt in 2 years, from Dublin, OH (taking the 42-23-4 route).

When we got to the park at 11, there was a fairly strong breeze coming off the bay, so not many big rides were open. We rode Blue Streak first; while we were in the queue, we saw that Raptor was down and MF was testing. We then got some famous CP fries and went to the beach side and rode DT and Wicked Twister twice with a <15 minute wait each time(once in back, once in front). After seeing the long wait on MF, we got a FreeWay pass for 7-8 and rode WildCat and Iron Dragon, which gave us a clear view of the then-unoperational Dragster. After a walk-on at Corkscrew, we got 2 quick laps on my favorite ride, the Magnum XL-200. I bought our picture when we rode in the ejector seat since I was wearing my "Magnum crystal ball" shirt.
At that time, we walked by the Dragster and noticed that the line was opening, so we got in the queue although the ride was still testing. After 45 minutes they finally opened the ride with 4 trains, but what we didn't know was that they were supposedly filming commercials on one of the trains; this meant that the same people kept riding that train and it lengthened our wait time. Still it was worth waiting 2 hours for the fastest ride in the world.

After that, we returned to Raptor, which also had a 15-minute wait. We got come frozen custard, played some games, then went to Mantis. By then (5:45), all the high school physics groups that were there had left, and any ride under 300 feet was a walk-on. We saw the last show of the day of America Rocks, then walked around the park to get quick laps on Gemini (still running only 1 side) and Magnum (again); neither ride had the trim brakes running. Then, in what has become a Mr. Magnum tradition, we rode Millennium Force as the last ride of the day, using our FreeWay at 7:00.

I had to leave then since it was a 2+ hour drive back home and I had to start work the next day, but once again, it was another "perfect day" at Cedar Point.
