Tuesday 13 Etrain Style

After a night of hesitations, my friend Kyle and I decided to head up to the Point on Tuesday even though the weather was predicted to include high winds. After a FAST drive to the Point, we arrived at 9:30 and parked at the Magnum gate hoping to book it to Dragster. We were shocked to find that they changed the GP entrance time to 10. He didn’t have JC so I entered to meet up with Aaron at Dragster – More on that later. On the way to Dragster I couldn’t help but notice a familiar face standing in the Magnum station with thumb raised high clearing the train. That’s right ladies and gents – Magnum Dan is at his home working Magnum. I meet up with my good friends Eric and Aaron and then went back for poor Kyle, but not before checking in with Danny J on Magnum since they opened Magnum for ERT since Dragster was down for a commercial shoot.

So now we have our nice group together and took a spin on Magnum. Magnum was giving great rides yesterday with no lines. Completely due to Dan working it and pumping out the trains VERY fast. Magnum’s crew always tears it up. This summer Magnum will have the fastest moving lines due to the awesome employees on there including Kara and Matt. After that we headed over to Dragster to find it would be down until 3 or so. We went to Mill Force for a lap.

After a ride on MF, Dragon and Power Tower we went to Twister. It is not by any means running at full speed; however it’s still an awesome ride and still blows away the one in WoA. Then we went for some cheese-on-a-stick (I got the new pepper one – very tasty). Then we rode BS, Raptor and back to Magnum.

Gemini was running only 2 trains on the red side so we skipped it and went to ride MS but it was down. They were walking people down the lift from about 70 feet. When will I ever get stuck on something? ?

So we hit up Woodstock and Paddle Wheel and then back to Magnum. I love it how a hyper coaster is a walk on. We are very special to have so many huge rides that a 200+ foot coaster is a walk on. Then we went to eat at Midway Market and then went on the Force.

We wanted to check the Dragster line so we went over there. It was bad and it wasn’t even open yet so we hit the Corkscrew. Now I usually skip the Corkscrew, but I won’t anymore because we rode front seat 2 times and discovered the best air time offered at Cedar Point over that little hop before the loop. For airtime nothing beats Corkscrew in the front – violent almost.

We then rode Gemini, Magnum three more times and then found the Dragster line still at 3+ hours so we finished the night on Millennium Force.

Now to mention all the nice people who helped make this day awesome:
Kyle – Although you did not get to ride Dragster, we did get up to that speed so it’s all good! :)
Eric – Always fun with you there. Midway Market and Magnum = your ideal trip :)
Aaron – It was great meeting you. I’m very glad we met and had such a great time! Glad to make a new awesome coaster friend. Are you sure your 22? :)
Dan – Great job on Magnum! It made me very happy to see you running Magnum since I know it means so much to you. It just seemed right having you there.
Maria - You and Dan make CP trips enjoyable. Always great to see you!
Steve and Lindsay - Nice to see you guys again!
Mikey – FINALLY we met! We will have to actually ride something together sometime! Eric noticed you have a lot of look-alikes. Could it be possible that Mikey cloning is happening?
Jeff – Good to finally meet you! Maybe I can work on Twister with you next summer!
Club Math – I promise I won’t drink and derive! :)
America Rocks girls - My my you are fine girls! Thanks for picking me to take on stage!

Mmmmm... beeeeer. :)

Those math t-shirts were bright. Maybe that was the goal... get us to read them by making them so bright that you HAVE to notice them.

Hmm... wondering why Etrain didn't elaborate on his on-stage moment with the America Rocks cuties...

I personally like my jacket more. Maybe I will start selling them. ;) I know you want one.

I added it in Aaron. ;) That and awesome airtime on Corkscrew made the whole day. Showgirls + massive airtime make Eric a happy coaster freak.

Eric, next time I see ya, you can look at my driver's license: 11/25/80.

Other Eric, corkscrew was fun... but I thought you just wanted me to throw up. (Upset stomach for some odd reason. Glad it went away.)

I wish we all didn't have to leave so early. :( Oh well, there'll be other trips!

Maureen and I were there on Tuesday as well, and were on the last train over the lift before the walkdown on Mean Streak. We *almost* made it back to the station, caught on the block right before the platform. So, we were walked off, but were only 1/2 of a train length from the station. She was very nervous about riding (she doesn't crave tall drops) but enjoyed the trip despite the rough ride. It didn't seem like the drop trims were grabbing all that hard, and the ride seemed better than average for MS.

We also found the CLUB MATH shirts absolutely hilarious. About every half hour, Maureen would chuckle and say "don't drink and derive; I like that."

I second the front-seat ejection air on Corkscrew; I don't remember that from back in the day, and since the headrest hits me low; it was almost painful, but in a really good way ;). Blue Streak was also giving great rides in the front; I think it lulled Maureen into a false sense of security. She seemed surprised by the ride.

I ended the day with a solo trip on Magnum (still too tall for Maureen, but she'll probably try it next trip), and spotted magnum dan on the platform turnstyles. It was a pleasant surprise. Plus, a 5-10 minute wait for the ejector seat, despite the fact that one of the trains had that row roped off. Grabbed a funnel cake on the way out for a great "date trip" without the kids.

It's not war, famine, or pestilence; it's only downtime.

Not only did Corkscrew have awesome airtime in the front seat but A LOT of leg room. I am 6'5 and I had my legs almost fully stretched out.

Well, then the shirts accomplished their goal: getting noticed. Those'll be burned into our heads for a while.
