TTD rollbacks

When I was there in July '03, I got to ride it two times. On every on time in line it would break down to many rollbacks (five or six). Put this year my two trips I haven't seen it rollback while I was in line.

I had more fun bragging about how I was on a rollback and it took me 10 times of riding it before I got one. It was super exciting! Your definitely the center of attention when you get back down.

I was waiting in line when TTD was broken down (what's new) and this old man was like an expert on the ride, at least I thought so. He was talking about how after a certain amount of time the hydraulics have to rebuild to the power it needs to get over the top. If it's been broken down awhile it takes at least 2 lauches for the hydrolics to build back to full power.

I have no clue if this is right, but what do you think?

Hmmm... I'd imagine you were talking to Earl. Regardless, that information is slightly flawed. Don't believe everything you hear from people who talk like they know everything about the ride. You know what they say about those who talk and those who don't.

I find it funny that everyone gives that ride so much flack for going up fast, stalling, and falling in reverse. One trick pony! Not a coaster! TAER IT DOWN!!!1!! But everyone wants a rollback on TTD...

Strange ain't it?

Though I never rode S:TE,

Enough said.

While TTD is faster and higher and the launch has a bit more kick, its about the same experience in general. In fact I like the going backward aspect of S:TE. Kinda like I like it on WT.

A rollback would be awesome!!!

Why do we bring back ancient topics?

I've said it before, I'll say it again. If you want to drop from 400' at around 100mph, BACKWARDS, hop a plain to SoCal and ride the newly reopened Superman The Escape at SFMM. I find it funny that everyone gives that ride so much flack for going up fast, stalling, and falling in reverse. One trick pony! Not a coaster! TAER IT DOWN!!!1!! But everyone wants a rollback on TTD...

I have had 2 rollbacks on TTD, Superman had NO thrill as it went up or down. I was just on Superman 4/5 and it was NOT worth the wait. I got NO airtime and no "thrill" going backwards. What a waste of 25 seconds.

Out there in CA, maybe they accept that kind of coaster, but for any CP fan, you will be disappointed.

Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast

Superman's rate of acceleration lacks, and you don't go 400ft. It was good when it first opened, and when it was the "creame of the crop" of launched coasters, but now it's pretty terrible.

raptorqueen: even if you didn't "feel" air time, you got it, heh :-p
