TTD Rollback

I had a "rollback" on Maverick's lift hill. I was in the front seat, nearly cresting the lift and it stopped right up at the top and went backwards at a more moderate pace, of course with awesome screeching noises included. Must have been a blocking problem or something; they reset us and we went up again. I have also had a Dragster rollback, but it was kind of "planned" as I was the first on it one day in October with temperatures around 45 outside.

P. S. sorry caleb for ruining your first topic Lol.

Let's Get Weird.

I can say that I was on the first public train that rolled back on Maverick. Red Cross Riders 2nd train! Its nothing special, just a slow decent back down the hill.

I'm not quite sure if I'd consider that a rollback since all it did was just go slowly in reverse. It looks like the operators had control on that.

^ roll-BACK... you know Backwards, or reverse. It considered a roll back, even if its not going full speed. The LSM's inhibit the trains ability to roll backwards fast, it's not in any way moderated by the operator.

The number one cause of that is the train gets to the top of the lift before the train before it clears the block at the beginning of the tunnel. Usually empty trains or cold mornings cause the train to slow down much more in the tunnel before launching. Basically every other coaster does the same thing, but Maverick just doesn't have anti-rollbacks to stop it on the lifthill, instead it the LSM's act as brakes and the train slowly comes back to the bottom until it hits the drive tires.

I think that a rollback on Maverick wouldn't be that great...

That's as close as you're going to get. When the motors lose power they essentially act as the brake fins on Dragster. There wasn't any control involved, that's just the physics of the situation.

I wouldn't brag about having that as a rollback. It's almost nothing.

That (looks) like an operator could have decided to bring the train back.

I've had a few rollbacks on the train in the stations....

Well I would say they are a lot more rare than a rollback on dragster, but they are just not as desirable as a TTD rollback. You can still brag since most people will not get that experience of going backwards on a lift hill.

I suppose you're right.

I havn't had a rollback on Maverick yet, but I did have an incident happen where, just before the crest, the LSM's shut off, my train creeped over the hill, stopped in the tunnel and was then manually lunched from a dead stop. And WOW what a launch!!
