TTD on tv

Anyone agree that at least until TTD gets up and running shouldnt they take the commercials off? And maybe take it off the feature of the web page?
nope
Last I checked, Cedar Point isn't part of Six Flags.
Wouldnt six flags keep their commercials on? So if this isnt six flags, what is your point?
I think he was trying to say that TTD wont be down for that long that they would need to pull their advertising campaign. TTD is not going into SBNO. We'll see it up in no time.

Unfortunately, many people are seeing these commercials and coming to C.P. only to be disappointed that it isn't running. The problem with pulling commercials is that air time slots are paid for far in advance. Pulling the commercials may not be possible (of course, I don't work in advertising), but a different commercial could air as opposed to the one they are currently running.
This happened to Wicked Twister last year too. It only has been 4 days and were already talking about taking advertising off the internet and TV. Is just me or is this way to soon. Maybe this topic will be appropriate when TTD is down for at least 2 weeks. Give CP time, they'll get it together, the always do.

Top Thrill Dragster, the tallest, fastest, and the greatest coaster ever!

No way they're going to take them off. It's perfect marketing. Tallest and fastest, 120 mph, blah blah blah. No where does the commercial claim a guaranteed ride. The commercial is doing it's job, bring people into the park. Yes, CP is working very hard to get TTD operational but if you don't get a ride, oh well. Ride one of the other 15 coasters. Marketing gets people into the park, guest relations handles the whining.

I see your point. But when they hear tallest and fastest they come for that and they expect that only to find out its been down for almost a week already.
I said the "Six Flags" comment because of what they did with X recently where they took it off the website. Ah, corny jokes can only go so far lol.
Cedar Point is all about making MONEY. With the commecials still running they are drawing people to CP and making MONEY.
Here is the equation:

More people = More money

Besides, Dragster is constantly breaking down and than running again so CP is not constantly taking the commercial off air and putting it back on. Dragster can start running again at anytime.

It has been mentioned on many area TV stations, during their news shows, that the ride is having some problems and not running. They did the same thing with the cable snap and then reported when it was fixed. I'm sure that people will get the hint that it's not open....and then they'll say when it's up and running again.

If anything maybe this will allow some people to be more tolerant of other parks that have issues with their new rides.

Let's remember folks, we are no longer in the era of: pull the train to the top, let it go, make sure it stops at the end.

Rides are becoming more complex because we are pushing operators and manufacturers to excite us more. I always think back to Test Track at Epcot. That was a year and a half (or longer) late and each time I went I was disappointed when it wasn't operating. BUT, I understood the dynamics of the situation and I didn't become bitter about WDW.

There are legitimate reasons to criticize amusement parks (parking fees, price for water) but a new, complex ride not running consistently after a month is not a legitimate complaint if you ask me.

more people seeing the ttd commercial and coming for it and getting dissappointed=less people coming back=less money
If you are in the NW OHIO area and get 13ABC out of Toledo, tune in at 5 o'clock PM 6/9/03. They are going to have TTD because it is brokendown. They may tell us what is wrong with the coster. Just thought that I would let you know. :)

They show the Texas Giant in some Astroworld commercials down here, even if TTD isn't running much at least it's in the park.

Actually people are going to come back because onece you see TTD in person you will want to ride it and you will keep coming back until you do. They will also ride some of the other great coasters and find out have exciting CP really is!
