TTD and Maverick models in!!

LuvRaptor's avatar

Went to CP today and saw the Statix TTD and Maverick models are in! They are availiable in the same colors as the actual rides (cept I didnt see any TTD cherry) and for some reason the models are $34.99 instead of the $29.99 the Raptor models were last year. Go figure!

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

Why does the Cherry model have white track?

^^Some of Dragster's Track is White. Maybe they thought some people would want the train on a White section of track.

Maybe? I was hoping to get red train with red track. I guess I'll have to wait till I go to the park and try to see it before I buy it.

They have had these for a few weeks now. I noticed them in the gift shop near demon drop.

Now if only we can get a magnum and blue streak model now.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

As someone who follows what Coaster Dynamix stuff lemme say this, you won't see a Magnum train anytime soon probably. Blue Streak is something they can do and if the park gets enough emails to the merchandising department may be a possibility, ditto with Mean Streak.

The reason they cost so much is because at the moment that is the only thing paying off the mold and plastic that Coaster Dynamix had to make for those. If there are a couple of other rides that can be made from some of those molds or colored parts then you probably will see a drop in price by a bit.

The final note I will drop is that probably some time next year you will probably see Raptor Statix Trains come back to the park. This is due to the fact Coaster Dynamix is re-making the inverted trains so there is a non-operable style that would not work on their system unlike some trains where if you do buy steel wheels they will work on their track system.

Disaster Transport 2012

We went with white track on the maroon train because if the seats, train body, and track were all the same color, it would look weird on the models.

The cost of the models is based on the demand. We do not set the retail cost. We sell at the same price to them no matter how many they buy. Right now, it is a hot item so they feel they can get a premium for them.

Raptor models will be back. In their current configuration they are hard to assemble (ie costly) and are fragile to ship. The newer, purely static models will allow us more color mixing options along with increased durability.

Thanks CoasterDynamix thats what I was thinking. The models look really cool and I am looking forward to the new Raptor trains too.

I just might have to get one of each, TTD and Maverick. That's funny how both are 34.99, and the Diamondback trains at KI are only 30.00, and they work.

Quite a few parks have these now.

When I was at busch gardens, they had one for alpingeist, apollos chariot, and griffon.

They looked really good.

Dorney also has one for talon, and I think there was one for hydra as well.

Oh, and let's not forget about the beast. I keep forgetting to buy one every time I go there. Maybe if they had package pickup :(

Well I just had to order one of each, I got the TTD Red, and Maverick Silver. I just noticed, the tracks are in order of red, white, and blue.

This reminds me....

I have seen the millenium force track replica online but never in any of the CP stores. I would prefer to look at it in the store and see about how it would work on my office desk.

Anyone see it at a store onsite?

I'm going out to get some air.

I think all three models that I have look pretty good, but 34.99 is steep for something that does not even work. The Raptor model would be more worth it, which I'm waiting on the second release.

oooooh! I want the armored horse! Oh and lighthouse point....

"Mean Streak crew 2004"

^^^They sell them on that cart next to the photo booth near Millennium Force, They also sell them in the Padoga gift shop if i remember correctly.

^^The second release of raptor will not have operating trains. According to CD they fall apart before they get to the park so they are re designing them to be in-operable.

I just got a Talon, and Hydra from Dorney park. The Talon train had two cars that fell apart, and the track broke free from the support. The reason why they come apart so easy is the hole train is snapped together, the other train CD makes are held together with screws. I was able to put my train back together and the use welding glue on the track.
