Tripods in the park

Well I was just wondering if they actually allowed tripods for picture/video taking in the park, I couldn't find anything on there website. I will probally be using a little mini one for the most part but sometimes it's nice to use a taller one in some spots.

I also usually put my camera bag and stuff in those one time use lockers or out in the car if I feel like going on a ride, but has anyone used the ride bins on some of the rides to store there stuff? Thanks for the help!

The ride bins are usually pretty good, I personally have never had any incidents. The Ride ops usual stand near them and kind of monitor if someone is opening the wrong trains bin. I personally would probably get a one time use locker because I wouldn't want to hold it in line for an hour.

I've taken a full-size tripod into the park as a guest. It's not a problem as long as you follow common sense rules - stay out of the way, don't go where you're not supposed to go, don't block anything, etc.

A full-size tripod helps with certain shots, but a mini-tripod on a trash can will cover many photo opportunities. Better yet, the Gorillapod can quickly become your best friend. Simply wrapped it around a fence to get these shots: one two three.

I'll 2nd the Gorillapod, or even its imitators. You can pick up a really nice Targus one, with cone-shaped segments, instead of rounded "beads". I almost like it more. It runs about $16 at Target.

Thats what I thought about the tripod, as long as you're not going around with it in the middle of the midway tripping others. I should definattly look into one of those Gorilla Pod's sometime for sure. O and those shots of Walt Disney World are really amazing! :)

I'll have to grab some more pictures for you then. I'm headed down in 3 days. :)

I stopped by Target today, and picked up the Targus flexible tripod on sale for $13.00. It seems to hold really well. I'm going to take it to WDW with me as my only tripod.

The triangular shape seems to hold better on square surfaces, like railings and fence posts.

I have a small one, one that does sit on a garbage can if wanted, and it works great. It's pretty compact, so it can easily fit into the lockers or the loose article bins. I don't usually keep mine all day, just at night usually.

Now I was curious about something too. Do you have to bring the tripod in a bag or can you just carry it with you through the turnstiles? I was thinking about getting some really nice night shots this year for my Webshots account that I have of Cedar Point.
