Took the back causeway as always and got caught up in the bike race that was going on. It wasn't a big deal by any means but I was worried about the safety of the participants because the road wasn't blocked off and that's a narrow road to begin with. The day started out blustery and cloudy but turned out beautiful!
Parked in Soak City and it was pretty filled up by the time we got there around 12:15. I expected the worst but the park was fairly empty the entire day :) We walked on everything and got a lot of riding in. Took a few breaks with shows and had a great day!!!
It was fun to see all of the decorations coming together for Halloweekends. We saw two of the shows, my son and I really enjoyed the Sideshow at the front of the park. The music selection was great and I really liked the costumes. Later on in the day we saw The Edge of Madness at the Red Garter and I hate to say it but we left after 2 songs. It was really loud but for those of you who like rock music you will enjoy it. I couldn't get over the girls makeup/costumes. They were painted to look like "Kiss" I'm assuming, but they looked like men in drag.
Can't wait to make it back for at least one more visit this year I hope!!
Well, I picked the wrong day AGAIN. I assumed light crowds the whole weekend. Chose to go saturday and was pretty bummed when I got to the parking lot. It turned out to be pretty crowded. We almost didn't go in. We did anyway and still had a nice time. Figures sunday was the better day. Rule of thumb should be to avoid saturdays ANYTIME if possible.
darkrider68, choosing to go on Saturday during any time of the year is a big no! Don't do it...EVER!
No problem. That's what I thought a couple years ago, but I sure was wrong. Sundays from now on for the rest of the season!
We went Sunday, the 8th, too! Didn't even get there until the afternoon but it was fantastic! Never thought I'd see the day Maverick was walk-on.
