Hello, Im new here! Took the kiddies on the annual 4th of July/Birthday trip. Enjoyed as usual, only thing negative to report was that the lines seemed longer than usual. Its a busy weekend but it was just a tad more crowded this year than in the past and the millenium force had too many issues that my teenagers did not get to ride it. It had gotten stuck and was shut down, wait times changed. I think it repoped after maybe 2 hours but after that who wants to ride it! So that was disappointing for them. Anyone know what happened?
I was there on the weekend too! Sunday was definitely busy...parking lot was packed - they wouldn't even let me drive over to the soak city parking lot! They were using the overflow in the front and shuttling ppl in. I just told them I was going to famous dave's and then scooted over to soak city. there were some spaces because of ppl leaving.
It's so frustrating when rides shut down...too bad your teens couldn't ride MF.
was there on the 3rd,but only from 8pm to 1am.
talked to a few security guards and asked about the large crowd, response was it possibly surpasses last years' Oct.16 crowd of 57,000.
my last ride of the day was TTD. while sitting on a train ( this was about 1:10am after the line closed) waiting to move up to launch position, the operator with the mic announced that a new daily TTD number of riders had been set that day. no,he didn't state the number.

wow...I can believe that! The midway was jammed shoulder to shoulder.
I was actually there last yr on Oct 16th...my first trip there in years and I was horrified. swore I'd never go during halloweekends again. must have been a perfect storm of circumstances.
I didn't have much of a prob on sunday though. but i did the milder kiddy rides though. did wildcat, mine ride, and thunder canyon with minimal waits. then hopped to soak city. then wrapped up the day with wicked twister, ferris wheel, and disaster transport. None had significant lines except for a half hr wait for the ferris wheel, which i expect anyway.

^ Don't swear off Halloweekends based on that one Saturday. Plan to go on a Friday night or Sunday instead, or even a Saturday in September. Crowds are usually much more manageable then.

I went last year to HW for a weekend trip. Saturday was not as bad as i had expected. I did go the first weekend that it was open. Sunday was completely dead. I usually try to get the outdoor attractions done on Saturday night because you are not really waiting in line, just walking thru the zones. I do the houses on Sunday afternoon because its dark in there anyway and you cannot tell its even light outside.
