Hello employees!
I was wondering what your training materials were like for Cedar Point.
Did you all get books or 'classroom' type training... or was it all on the job?
Do each of the coasters have books or binders that house the operation procedures and/or technical specs?
I am a technical writer and would absolutely LOVE pursuing a career change to something that I am passionate about, but I do not know what documentation already exists for ride-ops, mechanics, etc.
Thanks in advance!
We receive all of the training you mentioned. Upon processing in for employment, we go through a training session for general park policies, a session for housing (if you live in CP housing), general ride operations training, IROC training, and on-site training. In the general ride operations training, we receive manuals specific to our contracted location, which we are to read before our on-site training with the ride location leadership (team leaders and supervisors). The ride manuals contain a description of the ride, stats and how to operate the ride.
