Is anyone here working in Traffic Ops this or have in the past? I process in on June 5th and can't wait to get there. It seems like the days are taking forever to go by!

Congrats on the optimism. Hope you enjoy wearing a reflective overcoat and gloves in 90 degree weather...
Hey Kevin,
I worked for three season about two years ago. Not too much has changed with traffic since I left. Yes it will get hot out there on the warm days. The vest really doesn't make you any warmer. They have always been a mesh style vest. They have since changed the uniform since I first worked there. Imagine wearing black shorts with a black and yellow collared shirt in the sun. THAT was hot :). They are now a bright yellow in which you don't have to wear a vest with during the day :) and light tan shorts. Much nicer than before.
I think Steph is the supervisor again this year but I am not positive on that. You'll love working in the department. Management is great there. Traffic guys are always fun to work with. All three of my seasons were fun and enjoyable. Hope you have fun. Toss any other questions my way and I can try and answer them as best as I can.

Hey Mike,
Where does the traffic crew clock in at? At the marina?
I was told during my interview that each day a crew goes out to set up cones between 6:30 and 7am. Would it be better to stay at cedars because of this so I wouldn't have to get up earlier at commons to catch the bus?
Thanks for the help!

There is a crew that comes in at 7:30 to setup if the time hasn't changed. No earlier than 7 though. They clock in at the Raptor break area which is right by Park Services.
I personally don't recommend Cedars dorms if you want a decent place to live and air conditioning. But, being a late check -in you may or may not have a choice. If you can I would recommend commons dorms as they all have air conditioning and second the apartments as the living spaces have an air conditioner in them.
That's my personal opinion.
