First off, I have to agree with the first poster about gettin sick of Intamin coasters at the point. Since I can't ride their rides, I much prefer Magnum. I also can't believe that anyone would say that Magnum is getting too rough. I rode it a couple of weeks ago and thought that it was just as much fun as ever. So did my young nephews who, also, didn't seem to think that it is too rough.
Second, these bashing posts are getting pretty ridiculous. I don't usually complain and I rarely even post, but I hope that the moderators are seriously looking at closing the accounts of a couple of people.
...and enjoy the rest of your day at Cedar Point, The Am-aaaa-zement park!

Sure MF and TTD broke height barriers, but beyond the drop on MF and the launch on TTD, they really are both quite lame
That's weird. We always get comments like these, where someone ALWAYS states how "after MF drop, the ride is lame/boring". Well apparently the GP loves the ride, so it's not as boring as you seem. The comparison with S:RoS at Six FLags New England, I well agree that does give a more thrilling ride; however, I do appreciate Millennium Force for what it is.
Again, Superman is always ranked high over Millennium Force in Mitch Hawker's poll, but apparently you seem to omit that Millennium Force, since it's debut, has always been in the Top 4. So again, not all enthusiasts think the ride is lame.
...and as for TTD, what else is there besides the launch???

Heck, there really is no such thing as air on an Intamin.
Then what do I experience on MF on the hill before the 2nd tunnel and the small hill next to the station?
Balance a book on your head?? hahaha. That would blow right into the face of the person behind you. lôle

Yeah, Millennium Force sucks so much, it is ranked #1 in a vast majority of enthusiast polls. Millennium Force is also my favorite ride in the world and I would have to say it provides the greatest moments of airtime of any coaster anywhere. It only has three hills (other than the lift), but those three hills make me feel like little flying gremlins are lifting my butt off the seat and taking me to the sky. Magnum is great, but its bunny hills on the way back after the pretzel turn are far too jerky for me to enjoy them. I feel airtime, but it feels like i'm being catapulted out of my seat rather than lifted, and I can't quite enjoy it all that much.
I also like to look at roller coasters from an architectural and aesthetic view. I mean, just look at Millennium's first hill. It is awe-inspiring, and very much unique. Everything from the design to the coaster train was a step way outside of the box, and that adds to Millie's allure.
If Cedar Point had to put a couple lauched coasters in, I think they picked two great ones. Wicked Twister is amazing and TTD is the best thrill ride on the planet, and it's in the top ten of my favorite coasters list.
I'm wondering why Cedar Point opted for Intamin for the fourth time in a row, but if you think about it, there really isn't anyone else right now. The only other company I can think of that is prominent at this time is B&M. Intamin has the most variety and best designs/prototypes out right now, and they are enjoying the spotlight of the coaster world.
Hail to the Victors
I still think Cedar Point should have went with a B&M though. They only have 2.
They could use a floorless or a flyer. But, maybe some other time, huh?!

Flying coasters haven't caught on as being interesting or exciting and floorless coasters don't offer CP much to advertise on.

Hey if you're gonna bash it by calling it a 25 million dollar piece of junk then I'll buy it and put it in my backyard and call it my 25 million dollar piece of junk! Honestly what's so bad about the ride?!? Sure it breaks down a lot, but that's because of it's high use of advanced technology
1) Maverick 2) Millennium Force 3) Top Thrill Dragster
MF has to potential to give great air, it is just that most (including myself) usually put the belt and the bar almost to a staple, which prevents any vertical movement. I think I would be more prone to leave the bar and belt a little more loose if the cars weren't so darn open and I feel like I'm gonna fall out. Of course, that is the trade-off that happens. So MF is a great ride, with a great potential for awesome airtime.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Air-time. You know that great feeling you get has almost nothing to do with how tight your restraint is. Now I am talking about the air time you feel on PT. That to me is the second best feeling in the world. MF doesn't provide that. All it has is a good drop and a smooth ride, nothing special if you ask me.

101 on Magnum and counting...
MF definitely does provide airtime. The best airtime at any coaster at the park. I really dont know how you can say MF does not provide air.
and Jack, it's not a 25 million dollar piece of junk, its a 25 dollar million piece of junk. ;)
Hail to the Victors
MF is a fast cruiser that provides a couple of moments of gentle airtime. That's how it was designed and most people love it. It's been a very successful ride for CP, and it's great for families because it provides great speed and height, with a somewhat gentle ride action.
I have to agree with the original poster that a roller coaster should be somewhat rough and tumble. That's why I think Magnum is the best ride in the park. I love the intense airtime and the more turbulent ride action. Magnum is so much better than the more modern steel coasters that provide a very smooth, controlled ride. Arrow made an almost perfect ride, and it somewhat combines the best qualities of wood and steel coasters in one ride.
Wicked Twister and TTD are both great rides. They may be one trick ponies, but they have a really great trick. I'm glad both are at the park and I ride them often.
I'm very excited about Project 2007. It looks like it will be a very twisted, disorienting ride. It'll be great fun, I'm sure. I have a feeling though that you shouldn't expect a lift hill on the new ride.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I'm kinda tired of Intamin, but that has more to do with the excessive downtime that each seems to experience (even now).
Millennium is fun, and I like the constant speed, but there is something about Magnum that just makes it better.
The "advanced technology" argument is a moot point for TTD, unless it was a bunch of monkeys that designed it. It was a bunch of engineers with advanced degrees who, you would think, could turn 25 million into a working coaster.
Wicked Twister provides one of the best visual effects of any coaster I've been on (second to last seat). That's why it too gets ranked above Millennium.
I'm hoping for a seriously twisted ride in 07. It doesn't have to go inverted, but a twisting turning mass of steel would be fun to ride (if it works).
